Great machines. These will help grow the industry and may help keep some riding areas open. They’re certainly going to improve every year and I’m looking forward to seeing the tech improve along with range, weight, and performance. For a tour company, ski resort, land owner, etc these electric sleds make a lot of sense.

Absolutely and we are excited to see them advance as well! Thanks for watching! Cheers, Jesse

The day i have to ride a electric snowmobile is the day i retire from snowmobiling.

I've already retired from snowmobiling. Mainly because we don't get the snow. It's sxs for me.

I'd love to have the grand touring 800 like ski-doo made years ago. 😊

I can see these sleds for Pacific purposes being sweet. My brother has two gas sleds on the farm and only puts on maybe 100 miles max all winter. He wouldn't need to worry about stale gas carbs gumming up and not starting. Maybe brp could make a universal battery pack or something that you could put in your electric sxs for the summer that would be awesome. If brp comes out with a electric defender that would be my next machine l really like my hd7 but i hate noise, for the way i use mine hauling wood and hunting silence would be so nice. I dont do much trail riding so range to me doesn't matter much.

So, these are direct drive? No CV clutch? No gear box?

Do they sleds have Regen braking? I wonder if you would be able to charge them by towing them with a friend's sled if you ever run out of battery
@sledaddicz9 ай бұрын
Yes they do have regen braking. Not sure how effective it is though. Only went out for the 30 minute ride in the video and I was down to 60% when I got back. Cheers, Jesse

might be a better option for hunting too

I was expecting these to be much quieter

If they had the same power and range as a gas sled i would consider it. And not have to take a 25 year mortgage on to buy
@sledaddicz9 ай бұрын
As I say in the video, this isn't available as a consumer sled for many reasons...
@Mnoel799 ай бұрын
@@sledaddicz yes I realize that but I'm sure it's only a matter of time.
@jessebuchman67449 ай бұрын
@Mnoel79 ya probably but it won't be this sled. It will be something much more like a performance sled like taiga and probably get around 150 km per charge. It's not gonna replace ICE for a long time and I doubt BRP will stop making engines until they get to the point where the electric sleds have high range and performance and even then I doubt it.
@Mnoel799 ай бұрын
@@jessebuchman6744 wow 150km range , I think they would have to be towing a sled full of batteries for that lol jk
@jessebuchman67449 ай бұрын
@@Mnoel79 haha the taiga already gets around 110 km per charge so we aren't that far off..

What an introduction to sledding for a newbie. Soooo misleading eh! After this 40kph toaster the newbie gets on a 180hp 2 stroke beast and starts breathing in clouds of smoke, gets his arms stretched, tips over in every corner, hits a few trees cause they don’t turn well, blows a belt and gets stuck all with in 30 minutes of real sledding. 😅
