Oh my gosh Andrea... You guys killed it... I grew up in a family of 5 in a small 3 bd room house, one bathroom. Had to share a room with my sister.. I would have loved this as a kid.. I'm sure it was even more important since your situation is boy/girl.. but still!! You could just see the excitement in their faces and their comments were so sweet. You guys did an AMAZING JOB. I have been looking forward to seeing the finished product and man you guys sure didn't disappoint. Thanks again for sharing your life and DIYS. I agree, when you're a kid and growing up, you need some private space that is all your own. Now, being a mommy, I would have loved to give them a great big room, but I gave them as good as I could give them and they love it. That makes me happy. Really appreciate it, thank you!

Nothing like independence and autonomy, it offers peace and comfort. 👍 Contrast my growing up with 12 other siblings in a small house. Each bedroom had four bunk beds with absolutely NO privacy. These kids are privileged. LOL.

Im r etired Electric Co. so always checking energy efficiency😅 for cooling and heating. I noticed on this and one other video that you just have one small vent to share. Then with all those lights they throw off heat and will add heat to room when trying to cool the small space. Hope u can solve the effieicy with the light and them heating the rooms up.

Yes, the preteen 10 year old Raphael will definitely enjoy his privacy from the family and his little sister in his own boy cave. He can go and play in his room or chill on his bed and read a book, if he needs to decompress. Abigail has her own girl cave for her to play in and have her own space to decompress if she needs to. Also, both kids can now invite friends over for sleepovers without worrying about girls being in the same bedroom as the boys.

Well these are just wonderful and you did such an awesome job! It’s so good for them to each have a private space. May I make one suggestion? You probably already thought of this, but I would practice fire drills with them so that they know how to get out the window in case the doorway is blocked.

We have definitely done that more than once, it's such a good idea. We've put in new insulation in and around their room that is sound barrier and fire barrier. It was really important to us that if a fire happens on that side of the house, that they will know what to do! We got the fire alarms that alert the entire house instead of just the one going off. Thanks a lot!
