Great to see your dad has got full function in his knee again. It's crazy that modern equipment has problems with connections. You take an ABS sensor on your car wheel. Those connections are perfectly reliable and they get huge vibrations and water and dust hammered at them. Ag equipment manufacturers need to step up and use reliable automotive technologies more.
@mfreund154482 жыл бұрын
They do use automotive style connectors. I would bet there is a wire somewhere in the loom that is pinched and broke internally because of the shed falling on it. When he wiggles the connection, it makes connections for a little while. The planter needs a whole new wiring harness.

Seems like quite the conundrum. Some of the newer combines can do 2x the work of older ones…but then you only have one , which becomes a problem when these random issues start. Perhaps the solution is keeping some old iron around for backup…

I did a hard turn with the semi a few weeks ago, and the electrical quit on the trailer- it was all due to the NATO plug being stretched so far that the electrical connectors in the plug had been drawn in and it lost connection. Unfortunately there have to be some sharp turns now and then! 😊
@JohnSmith-yv6eq2 жыл бұрын
Can you attach a "restrainer" on the cord, between it and the body of the trailer/truck so the wire doesn't get a chance to pull directly on the pin connections?
@snickrologen2 жыл бұрын
@@JohnSmith-yv6eq you’re right, it’s been done in the way of tightening the screws in the plug thoroughly-so far! 😊 I’ll look for a restrainer cord as well to take up the slack while in straight ahead conditions.

That was awesome having your Future Female Farmers of America with you. They'll never forget that blue tonge experience. I used to take my youngest daughter with me on collection days on my arcade game route on my Harley when she was 11. To this day she remembers the location where she'd always order a Media Noche sandwich with rice and black beans plus the lasy who owned the place always gave her a piece of double chocolate cake. She wouldn't let me pay for our lunch when she was with me. Fun times. Even the day riding home adter finishing the route on Old Cuttler Road we hit a sqaul coming in off Biscayne Bay and we got soaking wet. Got home Ronni wanted to shower, change and go riding again to finish a couple of locations I hadn't gotren to the day before. Nope, Daddy was pooched.
