Foster parents are so needed. It is great that they have had access to such a stable foster home during such a formative time in their lives. It will make such a longterm difference in their lives. You will be great parents and hopefully you will continue fostering. I hope the parents will also look at your parenting and see how much their children have benefitted.

I find this really interesting having been a foster sister. Anyone can see that you two are the best kind of foster parents and your kiddos have done so well in such a short time which is down to you. It takes someone special to go from no children to three in one go and cope and you've done really well.

I love you guys. I have to say that as a man nearly 68, I envy your youth and ability to juggle so many things in your life seemingly so effortlessly. From fostering the kids (huge responsibility and time intensive), to making a living (Huge with real estate) and purchasing your own properties for investing. And then there is preserving, maintaining, and updating your own lovely home. Where do you find time for romace and relationship? Or is it like so many of us, the romance part gets eaten up by the living life in all the designated categories you are so wrapped up in. I don't see a lot of online affection, but I know you are dedicated by the way you interact. I'm so happy for you. Yes, I had that life when I was your age, but I miss it now. So I enjoy it vicariously through the two of you. Thank you for keeping on keeping on. I respect you and love you both for the quality men you seem to be. And so sorry about the court date postponement. I've been there with foster care. Nurture yourselves, and know it will work out for the best.! Some distraction time in the mean time is good...

Oh boy, listening to your story is taking me back. We started fostering 3 siblings in 2003. We went on to adopt them. It was a big change to go from gay guys about town to dads of 3--a newborn boy, 14 mo old girl and a 3-year-old girl. There were family visits bi-weekly. My husband went to every single one for over 2 years. Then bio parents' rights were terminated and we adopted them. It has been quite a journey but I would not have it any other way. You all seem to have a great attitude and be wonderful foster parents. Best of luck. The system here in New Jersey needs a lot of work but the children are treasures. Best of luck to all of you.

Being a Forster parent with 3 kids also stops or slows down those intimate moments in the bedroom. I am also sure you got very little sleep in the beginning. That being said congratulations on your 6 months and I see that you will make great parents. Good luck and we are proud that two gay men put their experience on youTube so the world can see how average we are and capable of being good parents.

I used “I spy” as a learning tool. I started off with colors and shapes when my babies were little so they would start learning to recognize shapes and colors. I kept using it for letters and eventually simple site words. It really worked and my oldest was reading on an a 4th grade level when she was in 1-2 grade. Junie B Jones books were wonderful first reader books my eldest daughter loved.

I’m thinking about one of the things that has probably helped both of you work together as a team in fostering the kiddos has been that previous to that you began working together in your jobs. That decision for Thomas to leave his job and work with PJ full-time I think has born fruit in the way you work together as foster parents. I’m sorry to hear about the delay, but I hope that in the long run things will work out that you can continue fostering this group of children for another six months, because I think the continuity is very important in their lives.

Any vid that is about your adorable trio is one that is guaranteed to be a great one. 🥰🥰🥰 It’s fascinating to hear the recap of your fostering journey and this has definitely been a rollercoaster 🎢 of a ride. For those of us who’ve been fortunate to have seen the different stages, it’s been a complete joy to have been following your journey, & thank you for being as open as you can be. To be thrown in the deep end at the start of parenting, may have been daunting but I & many others knew, you’d make excellent parents, & it’s great to see confident y’all are now. Your priorities have always been the care & well being of the trio & they have in you both, the love, security, guardianship that has seen them flourish. The love within your home, comes across, in every post you make about them, in any insta story or KZbin live or KZbin video you post. Your eyes light up, you smile more when you talk about them, & how much of an impact they have made in your lives. It’s lovely to witness.😊 They say things happen for a reason & their placement in your home & lives is something I truly hope will become long term/permanent.🤞 You are amazing parents, & even if your parenting styles may be different you’re making an incredibly positive impact on the kiddos. 💗

Kudos to both of you for going on the foster parent journey, especially with your first placement since you instantly had 3 kids. Personally I've always felt there is too much bias in the law for returning kids to their biological families when those families are objectively not the best place for the kids. Good luck navigating the court system. Just curious if you felt any bias toward you because your a gay couple, since Tennessee has recently passed anti-gay adoption laws.

I hope you take time to nurture that part of your relationship because as the children grow you will be thrown together more and more they will need you less and less. You will be PJ and Thomas once again and believe it or not it takes time to learn to be a couple once again. Ask some of the older parents. Trying to be helpful not preachy?

And the current administration wants to allow certain states to make it plausible for adoption agencies to discriminate against LGBTQ foster parents 🙄 You guys are proof that if you put the time, effort, and can provide a good home for kids then that’s all that matters.
