natalie being the AQ also explains mistys obsession with her in particular. misty goes so far out of her way for nat and to do things for nat in a way that she doesn't with the others. it also explains nats dislike for misty, i mean i know they all dont like her but nat REALLY doesn't. misty latches on to ben, he leaves her. she latches on to lottie, lottie gives up her power over the group. so of course misty is going to latch on the the AQ, she wants to make herself important to nat. thats why she is how she is in adulthood toward nat and thats why nat is so much more hateful toward misty. they remind each other of the wilderness, one loves it one hates it. thats just my theory anyway i could just be being dumb idk.

I’ve heard the theories that there are others and I agree, but if Nat was the first then I think a lot of the really fucked up shit they get into happened under Natalie’s leadership and that just affected her more than the others? Of course Shauna is the butcher so that would be pretty difficult too… can we just get season 3 already?! 😂

Misty connects herself to "the power" or authority figure to any group she's ever been in. She did it prior to the crash by attaching herself to the coaches. She did it in the wilderness with Coach Ben initially. With Lottie once she started being more of an influence. Then to Natalie after being deemed the oracle (aka: Antler Queen). It makes me wonder who or what she will consider "the power/authority figure) in the next season.

Yellowjackets rewards attentive viewers SO much, and it has such an amazing rewatch value due to constant re-contextualization and foreshadowing. Everything is a very deliberate choice, whether it be the costumes, the set designs, the soundtracks, etc etc. For instance, the antler queen's "costume" includes jewelry which resembles tear drops, and Nat wore the exact same jewelry during Doomcoming. She also wore a crown, like Lottie and nobody else, except her branches were smaller. Still growing.

I'm sure you are familiar with the Cabin Daughter theory/Javi's friend being the one who lit the cabin on fire. Retribution for what was done to Javi. The doors were locked, IMO. No rope was seen on the door when Tai broke it open wit the ax, The locks on the doors were the antique style that needs a removable key to lock and unlock. But who would have the key? As for LL's plane, people think Lottie's baptismal vision was a premonition of LL's death., I think it was more akin to a demand hidden within a request. Nice video BTW@@renrants

I'm planning to do more videos on the other characters and maybe dig into Lottie a little more, so I'll keep that note in mind :)

I really still believe the antler queen is a rotating role, we see the four antler queens in the first scene where they discuss what to do with Allie, Tai, Nat, Shauna, and Lottie. Each have their own season, figuratively and literally. Lottie, I think, is going to be the antler queen by the pilot point, they just didn’t have Lottie in season one, so they can’t exactly go and use any foreshadowing shots with her just yet.

Idk if this is a unique theory but a lot of things seem to be a metaphor for settlers and new relationship with land. There were signs of people before them, but they don’t understand it. There’s spirits but they don’t know how to communicate with them so they make meaning out of random coincidences. These settlers start cannibalising each other instead of learning how to tune in with the land (which I think is what Lottie is trying to get people to do via meditation). Lottie also tries to form their own tribal culture; but it seems like they’re going to corrupt it with “dominance” settler ideas in the future. Mari and Lottie’s actors are also of Indigenous descent which I don’t think is coincidental. I think pit girl is a sike out. They’re probably chasing her for some other reason, she ends up unaliving herself accidentally and they eat her out of survival, like with Jackie. Because I think once their cabin is burned down, the last sign of western comfort, they’re actually gonna end up more teamlike rather than distrusting as they have been. I do think there’s a spirit in the forest but it’s benevolent, it’s just Lottie being off her meds that make it seem menacing. It’s probably saying something like “give yourself to the land” as in, stop fearing it but Lottie interprets it as needing a sacrifice for instance.
@LeapThroughTheSky10 ай бұрын
I think that's likely honestly, but I kinda hope not. I hope the spirit isn't benevolent or evil, that it's sort of neutral with the ability to be both things depending on what is being put into it. I also hope that Lottie trying to commune with it isn't necessarily the good thing. I think pit girl being a sike out would kinda be a let down. They're working towards selecting people and hunting them, so if she just randomly ran out and they decided to allow it as a hunt, it would feel kinda disappointing.
@whiro894510 ай бұрын
@@LeapThroughTheSky those are both good points also! The pit girl thing i have worries about because the producers have basically said it was only for the pilot but I hope they do build a proper storyline based on the fan’s anticipation to find out who she is.

When Misty is destroying the beacon transmitter at the end of season 1 episode 2, you can't help but save yourself Man that is so screwed up because everything that happens two girls and the guys as well as for Coach Ben, Misty pics a lot of the brain it's not all of it due to the fact that it could have been rescued for following day or so..... And I know people are going to think I'm crazy for saying this and this just my opinion that anybody that has the same life that Misty had was probably done his exact same thing, it was said that she didn't have friends and people thought that she was weird and people make phone over, people will just call it up just to make fun of her, no I went to school in the '90s and I had pretty much the same experience to wear that I'm not attractive at all I'm short fast and the worst part is that I am borderline autism, so I haven't take special ed, there were rumors about me and it's Alice made fun of talk down to and I can tell you that most of the part I want to say 95% I didn't care but there were a few times where I was to my room it just started to cry because you get tired of hearing and there's something that you didn't ask for or you didn't choose to look or be certain way, kids are very cruel when it comes to hazing and it even those girls and that soccer team has the same life as Misty they were done the exact same thing hell I know a lot of people in high school that were done exact same thing because teenagers they want to be accepted they want to have friends in and being popular I mean who doesn't.... I do understand why people are upset about adult Nats fate, but I really liked it (even though it was extremely sad). I love when the show has the balls to kill a beloved main character, because it means that any of the adult Yellowjackets can be killed in the mess they created and it takes away sense of security from viewers and they hate that. Also, I think the adult time line was becoming overcrowded in s2 with Lottie and Van, and then we got more Jeff, Callie, Walter, Lisa and the detectives. The writers needed to write off a few characters to let the rest breathe. As for Misty destroying the palen's black box, it wouldn't have changed anything. Black box contains flight recorder, that records audio in the cockpit and pilots input/planes output, it doesn't actually send any signals (I think). Also, we know that the plane crashed 600 miles north off of the original flight path over Canadian boarder in a mountainous area rich with iron. Even if any type of signal was transmitted from emergency transmitor, it probably wouldn't have reached any receivers
@renrants2 ай бұрын
I actually agree about Nat's death, and I think she was always going to be the first one to die in the adult timeline, I thought they did a really beautiful job setting it up, and it definitely raises the stakes and streamlines the storyline like you said Factually I agree about the black box/transmitter, whatever, but for the purpose of the story I think it's more interesting if we pretend it worked the way she thought it did. I mean irl I doubt her ability to even destroy a thing that's built to survive a plane crash, but even if the story reveals that what she did made no difference, it also still matters that she THOUGHT it did

I would have loved Nat to find herself and then when Lottie was taken to the hospital, Nat and Lisa ran the compound. They helped people, made honey and dyed socks together. Then Nat found out Lisa was her kid via Travis when she came back pregnant in 1998! I mean, they could have even ended Nat’s plotline there with the rest of the YJs upset at her decisions but Lottie giving Nat and Lisa her blessings in taking control of the compound. It would have been better than to have Nat find inner peace and then get stabbed…having the police ironically find her and say she died because she was a junkie. I mean, the police don’t think any odd play was going on when there is a woman who just won a political office, two women questioned for Adam’s murder, etc…Walter saying he made some false bank statements that could frame anyone was a bit of a stretch, even for this show!

Each character is caught in a wrestling match between their conscience, their ego, and their fear. Teen Nat is the most conscientious. “Play like a team and win” is her solution to the Allie Problem. Fear overtakes Teen Nat when she allows Javi to die in her place. Ego overtakes Nat when she accepts the Antler Crown. As a consequence, she is tormented by her conscience, and has to drown that out with drugs. Ego and fear continue to have the upper hand until her conscience calls Adult Nat to sacrifice herself to save Lisa. Then she is finally free. She’s finally where she belongs. Your conscience must subdue your ego and your fear because there is such a thing as a fate worse than death - as evidenced by the plane crash and subsequent cannibalism. Losing your soul is much worse than losing your life. When Natalie sacrifices her life to preserve her conscience, she regains her soul. This is not a tragic end for Natalie. It is a heroic end. It is great storytelling.

@fleetwoodmak7773 ай бұрын
what’s interesting about tai’s alter ego is it seems like she’s struggled with something “supernatural” before the wilderness as well, similar to Lottie. multiple times, she sees the man with no eyes or whatever he is. this figure appears to lead her, even finding javi after the eyeless figure “led” tai to him when sleepwalking, which could’ve saved Javi at the time, ofc we know Javi doesn’t end up surviving. interestingly, we ofc know Javi dies in Nat’s place during the hunt, which is interesting when considering another comment I saw, which mentioned how when the deck of cards was missing the queen, Javi was allegedly the one who found it. so, the figure with no eyes led Tai to Javi, who then found the queen card (might I emphasize - the queen card with no eyes) which sentences Nat to death, thus resulting in Javi’s death. in the adult storyline, we see the eyeless man when Tai decides to stay in the electoral race after seeing the eyeless figure, when she initially decided to drop out as it was a major stressor for her, and believed to be the cause of “the wilderness” infringing itself back into her life (the wolves, the stuff with her family, etc.) I wonder if we’ll see this figure again, though I suspect it’s possible if it does play a significant role.

@@renrantsI believe to remember that you said you did not have watched so many interviews. But there is a YT channel that I can only recommend. It is "Collider Extras", Perry Nemiroff runs an interview series there under the name "Collider Ladies Night", or now "Collider Forces". Being a big fan of Yellowjackets herself, she was talking to several actors from the show. What I like about this talks, and what makes them special, among the fact that the interviews are in a very chilled mood, is that the actors dive deep into the characters and also talk about the backstories that they made up for their characters. If you don't know it by now you should check it out. Very entertaining and very informative.

I loved that this show is willing to take risks and kill people off. personally, I thought her death was obvious. She'd essentially ended her character arc, and there was no foreseeable character development she could've continued to go through. Her relationship with Lisa was shown in a way that really set up the framework for Natalie's fate. No, I didn't think that Misty would accidentally kill her... but I did totally call it that Natalie would sacrifice herself for Lisa. Especially with Javi's death in the flashback sequence- Natalie sacrificing herself so that a young adult could live really contrasts with her compliance in Javi's death. Further showing how far she's come. Fantastic writing.

I finally gave this show a watch. For a while, I kept thinking the whole supernatural side of it with witchy cult stuff would have me rolling my eyes because it’s always done in such a cliche way, so I mostly avoided it believing it to be one of those teen/young adult shows. I was wrong lol. It’s definitely geared more towards adults and covers everything well with the focus being more towards human nature under pressure in dire circumstances. Yes, there’s some “supernatural” stuff going on, but I barely thought about it much during the show as I was so drawn in to each character. Also, the actress for younger Nat is so pretty. She shines so well in all her scenes, and Juliette Lewis has always been one of my faves since the 90s. She’s one of the few in Hollywood that never gave in to all the hooplah that comes with fame. Same for Ricci (LOVED her as Misty, she became one of my faves right there with Nat and Tai). To be honest, this is one of the few shows where I think they had the younger version perfectly match the older version in appearance and personalities. Made everything so much easier to follow without having to wait to hear names to tie them to faces … someone watching could automatically tell who they’re supposed to be when older. I look forward to season 3. Now, it’s just dealing with the wait. 😩 (To add: this show has such an amazing soundtrack that just plays right into my nostalgia so hard - such great choices)

i just watched the whole show this week and nat's death and crowning were unexpected to me. from the beginning, i felt the most sympathy for her, genuinely concerning how much i was effected by her moves, just felt so much kinship to her and wanted the best for her from the start. after watching your video, I'm realizing that im mourning natalies literal death as it coincides with the death of her morality in becoming the antler queen. it had all come out of the blue but as the show continues, i think my opinion of nat will shift and im honestly excited for that. i love how the writers have these plots progressing forwards and backwards, it is such a treat for a tv devotee like myself. thanks for sharing your thoughts in this vid!!

i one million percent agree, i've seen people bring up some of these points on tik tok i think, or maybe other videos (i forget it was from like a year ago now lmao) and when the finale happened so many people were upset that natalie died and i wasn't that upset about it, like i was sad the character was gone but i immediately knew it couldn't have JUST been that the actress wanted to leave the show...i mean everyone on the show loves it and appreciates how much thought goes into it, and rewriting the entire thing cause one of the main actors wanted to leave randomly seems stupid...but the writers/creators have had the whole story planned for years now, at least the outlines of what will happen in each season, and i wouldn't be surprised at all if they had very specific ideas on certain details or scenes they wanted to include (i am starting to write tv and i am this way, and just the way yellowjackets is and how in depth everything is i can't imagine they ONLY have in their minds a rough outline and not anything more, even if it's a few scenes...like if they imagined shauna having her baby and then waking up and realizing he's stillborn or with them knowing he would die, shauna beating the shit outta lottie lol, or i figure they knew the cabin would burn down stuff like that ya know)

@renrants11 ай бұрын
Honestly while working on the video I kept convincing and un-convincing myself 😅 I still think it's ultimately going to be Natalie, but now that she's gone I wonder if it'll be Lottie in the adult time line
@deedeevinegarpluscucumbers11 ай бұрын
@@renrantscan’t wait to find out! I honestly tend to have a different view of the show than a lot of the fandom (to my mind, the adult timeline is actually pretty hopeful if not always happy, and tilted towards the adult women healing and finding out the answers they never received as teenagers) so my predictions about the future have a lot less to do with repeating the mistakes of their past and more about correcting them, and Lottie taking on a leadership role again does feel possible even with that spin! Also, just as a sidenote/quibble in wording: I don’t know if I would say Nat allowing Javi to die is an instance of her humanity faltering, so much as a deeply human desire to survive showing up in a way that necessitated she allow something horrible to happen. I totally get what you meant, but as someone who is really interested in how the show is taking the usual Lord of the Flies racism where the untamed wilderness drives Good Civilized People™️ to madness and subverting it, I couldn’t help but wince a little at the wording there.
@renrants11 ай бұрын
I'm so mad at the studios for drawing the strikes out so long, I need my YJ fix 😭 I really like your framing of the adult timeline as well, and I think it jives with Natalie correcting the mistake of letting someone die for her by sacrificing herself to save Lisa. Reasonable criticism, perhaps I should have approached it with a bit more nuance since I think the instinct to save someone else and to save one's self are both innately human instincts that were warring for Natalie, but I think the survival instinct is more primal and animal than compassion if that makes sense. I do love your interpretation of the refemaing of the lord of the flies archetypes, and I'll add one interesting element I've come to appreciate more and more is how much darkness there actually was in all of them before they even got to the wilderness, just manifesting in different ways
@deedeevinegarpluscucumbers11 ай бұрын
@@renrants oh yeah, no worries at all! I find myself trying to edit out anything where I imply the girls are somehow devolving/feral/less human from my own writing all the time, despite my own feelings on the issue-we tend to talk about things being “inhumane” or whatever when what we mean is “terrible”, so picking over my own language when I talk about this show is a constant exercise in how we only have the vocabulary we have, and trying to find the best way to phrase something an endless effort. Not to tldr in your comments yet more, but since it’s relevant: I’m also incredibly interested in the idea that their rules in the wilderness are no more or less brutal/feral/savage than the rules of our actual world, just more honest and immediate about it. (And obviously violent: to be honest in my own bias, my issue is remembering the cannibal cult has downfalls as well, and isn’t simply a better version of the same old shit.) For example: my principles and politics run counter to the things I allow my government and general society to do, but because I am not the hand that deals out the killing blow it’s always easier to internally justify my actions. I’m really hoping the vibes I’m picking up on in the show that echo that ideal come to fruition, and fingers crossed I’m onto something v seeing what I want to see.
@renrants11 ай бұрын
I think being precise in language is so important, thank you for the reminder! I do think there's an interesting push and pull between the human animal and what we see as higher human ideals, but it's hard to talk about without falling into tropes that don't accurately represent the story I love your analysis, it's so well thought out! I also think you're onto something, especially with the darkness in the women in the adult timeline that they're fighting against, and Shauna saying there was no "It" it was just them, implies that the wilderness wasn't the deciding factor in their darkness or willingness to act brutally out of self preservation
@blackk_rose_9 ай бұрын
Honestly, I was never a fan of Nat, so I'm not sad to see her gone. Her death worked well and made the most sense. The juxtaposition of Nat being crowned the leader in the past and dying in the present beautifully shows how different their lives are now. Once Nat was the leader everyone looked to, the one who was fated to die but didn't, the one who kept them alive. But in the present she couldn't cope with that after she lost her purpose as the leader, turned to drugs and alcohol, and eventually ended up being killed by the very person who saved her life the first time around. But killing Nat wasn't just narratively a good choice. Killing Van or Lottie after they were just introduced would've been a boring, less emotionally impactful choice and out of the other four, Nat's story was the easiest to conclude. They would never kill Shauna or Tai this early because there's too much material with Shauna's family (and if anyone is "the" main character, it's her) and Tai's alter ego to explore. And Misty is the quirky, crazy wildcard of the show, they wouldn't kill her off early either. Besides, the emotional impact on the other characters wouldn't be very high with Misty dying. They all clearly valued Nat (if only for what she did for them in the past), while Misty is perceived as an annoyance none of them are close to on any level. I admire it when writers actually kill characters off that are beloved when it fits the narrative instead of opting for the safer choices. They already did that in the teen timeline, which I understand. Ben, Akilah, and Mari are literally the only more major characters left they can still kill. With the introduction of Lottie and Van, killing someone in the adult timeline also leaves room to explore their stories now. What season two did really well too, was showing characters change and adapt and prove everyone wrong who claimed someone like Nat turn out to not have particpated in the worst of it. No, everyone but Ben participated in cannibalism, everyone but Lottie and Ben agreed to sacrifice one of them via the drawing of cards, Nat chose to sacrifice Javi to live, Van, Shauna, Tai, and Misty actively took part in the first hunt, Shauna was the first to eat human flesh, sceptical Tai was converted to the wilderness religion, and Nat ended up as their leader. The show is about a group of people collectively committing unspeakable acts and starting to believe in a higher power (whether real or not), not about the "good" and "bad" survivors. Even Ben, the only one not partaking in any of it, tried to kill them all. I think Ben might be hunted down in season 3 for attempting to kill them and it would make for a good storyline to show how far gone they are if they include a hunt in the summer when they actually don't need to resort to eating human flesh. I do wonder how much was truly planned from the beginning because I think somewhere it was said that the season isn't planned out yet (or wasn't when they started season 1 at least) and with them originally wanting to kill off Van and now she's one of the survivors, it's clear they're still changing things around and might not even have decided on the fates of Akilah, Mari, and Ben yet. I do think you're right that they knew Nat would be the AQ from the beginning though. Whether they always planned to kill her, I'm not sure.
@renrants9 ай бұрын
Thank you so much for your insightful comment! I totally agree killing Nat was a good narrative choice even if I really liked her. It raises the stakes a lot and reminds us there's no "plot armor" even for beloved main characters. Your analysis for why it made the most sense for adult Nat to die over the others was spot on! I think the writers at the very least have a loose outline of where they want the whole show to go, but it probably changes a lot when they actually sit down to write as the story and characters inform them of what actually works and what doesn't, for example they were kicking around the idea that Adam might be Javi, but then decided it's actually more tragic if he was just a normal guy who loved Shauna. So I think they may have had a general idea of where they wanted to take Natalie and that they were going to kill her off, and I think having Lottie and Misty involved was planned from the start, but I kind of suspect they originally planned to kill her off later but ended up moving up the timeline because it did end up feeling a bit rushed
@blackk_rose_9 ай бұрын
@@renrants I agree, the foreshadowing you pointed out in the video would be quite the coincidence if they didn't have any plan to kill Nat from the beginning. I think that's why it works so well and isn't just a big shocker, although strangely many people seem to think it just happened because Juliette Lewis wanted to leave and not because of its narrative value, so I'm glad you made this video. I wondered what the point of Nat's vision was in season 1 but never thought about it further and your take on it makes so much sense!
@renrants9 ай бұрын
@blackk_rose_ thank you! :) Yeah, I think people were kind of right that it felt pretty sudden, but when you really look at her character arc combined with the foreshadowing it feels beautifully inevitable. I think it's probable that Juliette wanted to leave the show and that's why they moved it up to the end of season 2, but I don't know if we'll ever get confirmation, haha!

Not really all that relevant to the video, but while we're talking about subtle details in the show that most people might miss; in the two identified cases of cannibalism in the wilderness (Jackie and Javi), the first person to start eating them, in both instances, is the person closest to them. In Jackie's case, obviously Shauna is the one who initiates the "feast" but even before that, the first bit of cannibalism we see, timeline wise, is Shauna eating Jackie's ear. For Javi, all of the remaining Yellowjackets wait for Travis to take the first bite before eating. Of course, three times is what makes a pattern, but that little bit of congruity is the only thing keeping me from fully buying into the theory that Nat is the one wearing the antlers in the pilot, since, so far, the people that were the closest to her in the wilderness were all rescued, with the exception of Ben, but he obviously can't be the Pit Girl for a few reasons, most obviously that he can't run.

I have a theory about that Allie meet-up in episode one. Those are the main powerhouses of the team in the wilderness - Nat the hunter, Lottie the priestess, Shauna the butcher, and Tai as a still undefined but totally spiritually linked to her more savage side somehow. These are the Antler Queen, in some way. They are the most ruthless, the most decided and the ones to withheld more power when things turn to sh*t. I've been calling Shauna getting jealous of the whole wilderness-leader thing since season 1. Jackie now dead should mean the crown is hers - she's Jackie's second in command, her right hand, right? It's only natural. Except people just... Would rather follow crazy Lottie and washed up Nat apparently. Even if she is one of the smartest YJs, and the one willing to sacrifice anything to keep alive. She cannibalized her best friend, she lost her baby, and she lost Javi, whom she genuinely cared for, even while high off on shrooms and out of her mind while hunting down Travis. Despite all that, despite Jackie being the original queen bee, she dosen't have a chance to even try her hand at leadership there. Even with Jackie dead she's STILL pathetic little sidekick Shauna somehow. She snaps (as per s3 trailer). Taissa will support her because she's her friend, yes, but also because Lottie and Nat are just way too much into witchy woo-woo sh*t for her taste... But here's the thing: Shauna is cruel (at least her teen self during that era is). She is ruthless and hurting and she WILL become a dictator. There's no if about it. They split the remaning jackets, probably even stealing some of the stuff that was left from the cabin fire. Shauna's party leaves. That dissent is exactly why Nat and Shauna as adults still won't see eye to eye. It will probably start out as Ben's judgment, but that's the basis of it: Shauna wants to be a leader but has no skill for it, and Nat dosen't want to be the leader but someone's gotta do it and Lottie opted out after Shauna tried to take HER out of the game. Continuing on: When Shauna turns too violent to rationally justify, that's when Tai will try to wrestle control away from her. Half the girls are still following the "original Antler Queen", but there are those who followed Shauna out and those girls? They're COOKED. They were without a butcher and Shauna's party went without a hunter (if Travis won't join, which I actually believe he will? Even if just to spite Nat. Maybe Shauna will even Jeff-Sadecki his as* by sleeping with him to get another piece of Jackie? Idk idk) and things start to go from bad to worse. More people die. Tai is forced to do some heavy PR damage repair so they can work together as Antler Queens again, because if that keeps up, *everyone* will die. That meeting in s1e1 exemplified how their dynamic works. Lottie and Nat disagreeing with Tai, while Shauna's only thought is, AS ALWAYS (my girl's whipped, poor baby), about Jackie and what Jackie would think of her standing in this. Tai takes action, saves them from the wilderness as she did Allie (although it seemed harsh). Ultimately the four of them need each other. The wilderness is rewarding their coming together time and time again.

End of season 1 was way more shocking, Lottie having a cult in the wilderness was obvious but for that cult to still be running in 2021 not so much. 😂 At that point I was starting to think there may have been 2 groups in the wilderness, 1 run by Lottie and a second run by someone else but it looks like it was just 1 group.

im p sure theres an interview w the writers where they confirmed that nat hallucinating misty was deliberate foreshadowing to nat’s death

That definitely makes sense!

Part of me hopes, given the supernatural element of the wilderness, that they may bring (accurate) wendigo representation into this. It's a very interesting tale in certain native american tribes, precisely located in the north of American and parts of Canada. It's quite literally an evil spirit of the cold and cannibalism. Antlers have also become a symbol for wenigos in modern media, though they don't have them in the original tales. But it would tie in nicely with their growing hunger for human meat, turning animalistic and the fact that their first act of cannibalism is committed at the first fall of snow. The wenigo is also known to prey on weakness and to manipulate its victims to take possession of them. The girls are emotionally weak, being starved and having just lost a dear friend through a fight gone wrong, and the "accidental barbecue" was shot in a way that made it look intentional by the wilderness. BUT some scenes also to the wiccan Horned God, deity of the wilderness, fertility, hunting and often associated with darker aspects of life. He also has horns, often shown with antlers because of his association with the Celtic God Cernunnos who has similar domains. Because I feel it's intentional that the girls start getting eager to kill Travis after nearly having an orgy with him, turning a party into a hunt. However, to add to your Artemis aspect, I feel it's important to note that so far, onlt the girls have participated in hunting. The men/boys are shown as hungry, yes, but not as feral as the girls. Artemis is one of the virgin godesses and was an active and known man hater in mythology, only taking women to join her hunt. And while Travis survives (we don't know about Coach but I doubt it), he's the first to die later on. Overall, it feels like the boys are excluded from the hunting frenzy of the girls. Hope this little essay was interesting to read : )

don't think misty is the reason they didnt get rescued she destroyed the flight recorder but thought it was the transmitter even though it only works in the ocean.
@renrants11 ай бұрын
I had a bit I cut from the video where I mentioned it seemed unlikely she'd be able to break something designed to survive a plane crash (video was getting too long 😅) I do think it's narratively more interesting if she was responsible in that regard though
@itchooses11 ай бұрын
idk because i don't like how people put everything to blame on her for that but i think it is still interesting that she thought it was a transmitter. @@renrants
@renrants11 ай бұрын
Yeah, even if it didn't actually stop them from getting rescued, she thought it would, and she was so desperate for people to like her that she was willing to strand them there indefinitely, but realistically I don't think she thought in that moment they'd be out there for 19 months, she probably imagined a few weeks where she'd be indespensible before they were rescued

@@itchooses i feel like even though it by itself wouldnt have worked she clearly thought it would've and the girls after the crash do talk like they also think the transmitter would help them be found so either the show is fudging reality a bit, but also it doesnt matter much because misty was under the impression it would help them be found so her intentions remain the same. i also think the show does frame it like its something to be upset about because *gestures to crystal* so i wouldnt be surprised if they're fudging reality a bit

Idk...but i still think Lottie is the Antler Queen, but i like the choice of Natalie becoming the new queen @ the end of S2. I'm still mad 😡 they killed off Nat. Juliette Lewis was AWESOME as adult Nat. Coach Ben is definitely in trouble, he set the fire to the cabin [like Fuck them kids!!! I had a enough! 😂] BUT i feel that the wilderness had a role of the cabin burning down as well.
@renrants11 ай бұрын
I like your interpretation of the cabin fire, it's interesting that he was so horrified they killed Javi he tried to kill all of them, although maybe it was just to save himself It could definitely be a transitional title that goes to the others I thought it was interesting how they all seemed to think Lottie was going to make them the leader
@LanaK.fan833711 ай бұрын
@@renrants Oh yeah. The wilderness at this point is supernatural (I believe) especially when they discovered the symbol on the tree. I have weird feeling that the crash was meant for them, and to be stranded there for that long.
@renrants11 ай бұрын
@ashleysummers8337 part of me wants it to be supernatural, but part of me wants it to just be them and the darkness that was already with them

@@renrants thanks for replying back! Really like you're reviews for this show compared to other videos. The ones I've seen & heard are AI and they can't pronounce Taissa & Javi's names right! 😂 Can't wait to see more when S3 comes back.

started Yellowjackets yesterday morning, just finished it. The second i saw Lonnie i clocked her as a psychic. I just read an article that said S3 is currently in production! We'll probably have it either end of this year or start of next year cause of the writer's strikes. I'm desperate to know who pit girl is!!! I think it might be Mari, but why would Mari have Jackie's necklace? I doubt that Shauna would have given it to her. Also I didn't clock Nat as the antler queen, I thought it would be Shauna...
@renrants9 ай бұрын
To be fair Shauna also thought it was gonna be her, haha I think they might give Jackie's necklace to whoever is being hunted as part of the ritual, but it's just a guess
