On the note of your Gibbon comment, may I point you to the MH Monster Kecha Wacha! Also there was a huge issue at launch where the individual maps would build up memory leaks or something of the sort causing constant, terrible frame drops. I mostly played the game around launch for a few months and did get that issue a bit but it seems to have been fixed at this point. It runs relatively well on my modest pc.

Really really wanted to give this a try, but performance issues and no kind of photomode killed it for me. Plus i'm sure i saw they've already stopped supporting it, so definitely won't be jumping in now lol. The game did look like fun though!

I tried it, actually it was not bad, it’s quite easy and fun. And not stressful as MH too, and I got no performance issues at all. I just wish there can be more monsters and weapon types . And trust me, the graphic is far better than the MH.

If you’re yet to try it on PS5 I’d definitely recommend. Since launch it’s had the most stable performance for the game.

The crafting system and the performance of the game killed it for me, and it just wasn't as rewarding to me. I have a pretty good PC, the game was super unstable even on medium setting. The scale of a lot of the monsters also seemed like a misstep. My least favorite monsters in MHW are the ones that are essentially just a foot on your screen while playing. The hit reg and so many things just weren't at an acceptable place for me. It sucks because the game is absolutely gorgeous and had so much potential, but it almost seemed like too many okay ideas, and none if them were perfected outside if enemy design imo

Never been a fan of monster hunter style games, played a few just couldn't get into it. Last one I tried was God Eater 2, weirdly enough I love shadow of the colossus wich is basically a proto-monster hunter game isn't it?😂

SotC was released in 05, MH 1 was in 04. I kinda see what you mean though, high focus on boss fights and SotC is only boss fights. If you haven't tried them, MH World and Rise were the games that got me into the series. The biggest hurdle is finding a weapon that you really mesh with. Lance in World is the most satisfying thing IMO.
