France also haven't done any better. And they do this almost every tournament and ensure qualifying first. Who cares if Spain beat turkey 10-0. Turkey are never winning it. England don't care about peaking against Serbia or Denmark. They want to save their best stuff for later on and lull their opponents into thinking they'll be easy. The last group game is now the perfect game to lay down a marker and make a statement. There's no pressure on this game now. We could lose 15-0. Who cares. If you're through just have a go at it and open it up like they will have to. Just make sure you keep your best players uninjured though. Meaning bringing kane and bellingham off on 70 mins whatever the score or anything else and saving them for the next one. Ppl think Southgate doesn't know how to progress through tournaments but no other manager has qualified us pretty easily for as many tournaments since WC 2018, and the qualifying. Then penalties, one to be exact from being euro champions and at every tournament we had underwhelming starts. We aren't here to look flash against turkey or whoever and play our best game early on. We want to keep our best stuff in our pockets for the latter rounds. You'll see.

No overloads, no over laps on the wings, no runs in behind The answer: Pickford Back three: Walker Stones Geuhi Wing backs: Saka Gordon Midfield: Bellingham Rice Foden Forwards: Kane(Watkins) Palmer. Requirements for this to work 1. Saka and Gordon will need to really put a shift in and run their guts out. Both are well suited to this role though. They will need to stay wide. Bellingham and Foden need to be aware of their responsibility to the right and left of centre respectively and not just roam randomly as they fancy

When we play Kane we don't have any runners in behind that's the problem. Also for some reason we cannot even build the ball out of the back through the middle of the pitch we seem to just kick it forward to back to our opposition. We seem to score and then sit deep for some reason. Need to play Watkins as a 9 and Kane as 10 or drop Kane and play Foden as a 10 Jude as an 8 with Watkins up top and Gordan/Eze on the left .

Is he for real - confusion? they don't know when or who to press? Professional players with teams of staff scrutinising the opposition and all the technology to study in minute detail. Don't they work on this in training? If Klopp wouldn't play Trent (a brilliant player) in midfield, why waste two important matches experimenting? You can't shoe horn players into unfamiliar positions - it's the Lampard Gerrard Scholes conversation all over again. Tournament Management - you have to leave some big names out for the sake of the overall team, even if that's Kane, who has been abismal and he's fully fit, so that's not an excuse.

To be honest argentina lost against saudi and won the World cup, so of we win it these games will be forgotten. The issue is we have been made favourites, mostly by the English press when the reality is we don't have the best squad. We think the premier league is the best in the world but in terms of quality it is not. Its the most competitive league however the top 4 teams playing champions league have mostly foreign players getting game time. A good percentage of our squad are not playing regular champions league football and only Kane and Bellingham play abroad. Until this changes we will never win anything. In the quarters/semis/final we will get found out. Its fine margins and game managment which we fall short. I hope we bore everyone and pick it up later stages and win it but I'm kidding myself again!
