I am 78 and have not given up on my dreams. Two years ago I did my first ever build. A beautiful chicken house and run. I have since build three more all with runs attached. A year ago I learned to machine quilt. Have always loved animals and wanted another dog as my last one passed. My son said do not do it as it may out live me. Every dream may out live me but I will not stop living and learning. You Tube has been a great source of knowledge for me. Thank you for your informative channel. My new dream is to purchase a couple of acres and raise chickens. I don’t have to get rich I just want to learn a bout genetics of the different breeds. At one time I raised parrots and was successful. My small breeds pay for all the food and the purchase of the cages, housing ,and larger birds. I only sold them off as my husband felt tied down but I was alway able to hire some one to take care of them when we traveled. Go after your dreams life is to short. When I die I will be able to say I have done everything I have wanted to and have no regrets.

Wow Addie, I want to be you when I grow up. :)..... I too will use your words of wisdom as I got my wake up call recently. I will now complete the projects I started, finish the book I have been editing and learn how to quilt, knit properly not just in a straight line and maybe crochet too. ;) Subscribed to watch and learn quilting.

You are so blessed to be surrounded by such majestic nature. The way you and Jeremy approach building your home and future feels so holistic with the land. Hail, snow, rain and sunshine within the course of a few hours is no stranger either here in Denmark. My daughter and I were filling in the grouting of a large outdoor mosaic table two days ago in such weather. It cleared up, the sun came out and the river sparkled with millions of light reflecting crystals. The most precious kind.

We can so relate to having to run into town. We are 30 minutes from town so we try to only go into town weekly and it’s usually an all day event. But we do remember what is was like when we were building and we had to run into town for things we need on the fly. Now I hate when we have to run to town. I can stay home for days without going anywhere. Looking good guys.

We've bought a holiday home in the middle of the Netherlands, and although it's not very far from town, trying to do DIY in the middle of a pandemic has been a bit of a nightmare, with shops being shut. Get some wire mesh, whenever you have a hole through your foundation or a wall in your house, fill it with that wire mesh. A mouse can get through a space that’s less than half of an inch and they’ll eat right through foam and pull caulk out. It looks really good, you’re about halfway done more or less. ;)
@MomtoZnE
@MomtoZnE 3 жыл бұрын
Yes this. Go down into the crawl space and cover all openings including around that pipe with wire mesh. You won’t regret it. Mice can squeeze through openings the size of a dime. Do it on the walls once that’s done - over the dryer vent, attic vents, etc.

This is very true but like the Souza's there are people willing to do the hard work needed to get the dream a lot of people desire. Then the other side of that coin is a lot of half finished properties left to rot as the dreamers gave up because it was to hard/real, because they were too far away from the cities the grew up in and all of it's conveniences and driving over and hour to get something was tiring too.

I told everyone I was bringing my son here and I never stopped saying it. Don't you just love Spring weather. Here in WV we've had both a whiteout and an 80 degree day all in a one week period. My bees are as confused as I am. One day in a cluster trying to keep the brood alive, the next day foraging in the sunshine.

You guys are definitely capable and I, for one, am so excited and so very proud of you guys for following your dream AND not giving up. Oh yeah!👍👍 (I was gonna say something else, but no expletives allowed😄) God bless, 🙏 be safe 💖

I'm the youngest of six kids and have had the pleasure of helping all the rest build or remodel their houses . Nothing better than seeing a plan come together . Except the finished products . From houses to garages to barns we have built it all . Nothing better than the smell of fresh cut lumber . Except when I did ceder roofs ...damn thats a great smell . Love what you have done and am looking forward to seeing some roof on your home . 👍👍👍
