Now I know why soap is pronounced as Sabun, so it's probably cos of its name Saponin. Previously, I only know Sabun is not of Malay nor Hokkien origin as many thought to be but it's actually Portuguese. Btw, I think you are referring to Saponut instead of Sapoberry cos google yields no result for Sapoberry leh. That award-winning jam-making guy and his shop was interviewed by Taiwan programme before. To what I know, only sotong balls from Tainan has chopped bits of sotong inside their balls initially (that's their signature way), then it spread to neighbouring counties. The sugarcane uncle is damn funny indeed!! So did Ah Hong buy sugarcane face masks for his wife to use so that he can have the masks (and others) as "desserts"?! Oops! Haha! Btw, that Chin Bee Industrial area housed many warehouses for frozen food. You guys are getting popular now, even beyond shores! Put it up!
