The part about the US not getting involved with Godzilla was, in essence, an internal affair rather than having outside influences. Also, the story revolved around the citizens of Japan and not the government or any governing officials, such as the Emperor and his family. It’s all about the private citizens coming together to show their unwavering determination to win an impossible battle.

Yes and also I think that people in the 50s (which they were at the end of the movie) already thought different than the survivors right after the war who only tried to survive. But the Doc did only became so upset about that government because they left them alone with Godzilla and that they could now again loose everything the rebuilt....

I was surprised at the amount of CGI used in this movie considering the budget. The entire window shot from the train was all CGI. The Koichi's devastated neighborhood was mostly CGI. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qHq9g6mBqNOkqrc On the Jaws subject, when Godzilla takes down the other mine sweeper boat, I thought Mizushima falling on his ass in disbelief was the homage to "We're gonna need a bigger boat"

2nd comment, The Shinden fighter was a real plane under development at the end of the war. The rear prop made bailing out by climbing out of the cockpit and jumping off the wing impossible. The Germans, being ahead of everyone else in developing jet technology, were developing ejection seats that the Japanese bought for the Shinden. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kyushu_J7W_Shinden
