Stephen unfortunately passed away from ALS. He was the og voice of Potty actually. Also Tom Kenny voices a lot of characters on the show lol. Guys I’m very surprised you didn’t know about how Stephen Hillenburg passed away. It was huge news online and everybody talk about it for months. So much that fans convinced Nickelodeon to collaborate with the NFL. Nickelodeon made a short animation for the 2019 Super Bowl Halftime show to honor him. But the NFL messed it up, they didn’t mention Stephen Hellinburg passing away. And didn’t play the final song from the episode of “band geeks”. It was just a brief appearance sandwhiched between Maroon 5 and the “sicko mode” song it gave another reason for fans to be pissed at the NFL for that year😂

14:43 Fun Fact: In the German version Patrick said he's gonna 'sue' Spongebob, "Ich zeig dich an", which is kinda funny because it's become a bit of a joke in Germany that stuck up Germans will threaten to sue you when they get mad as opposed to any other threat. (though i should note that German uses the same word for suing someone and reporting them to the police "anzeigen" so it probably wasn't meant as suing but it sounds like it). The weird thing is that there is also a word for telling on someone "verpetzten" which fits and is equally ridiculous sounding as the english version so i really don't know why they didn't use that word.

To expand on what others are saying, Tom Kenny (the voice of Spongebob) has actually done a LOT of voice work outside of Spongebob. This just happens to be his most well known role. As others have pointed out, he also tends to do a lot of the background characters and live action roles. Mr Lawrence, the voice of Plankton, similarly has done some of the live action roles.

Stephen HILLENBURG he enrolled at the California institute of the arts and Created SpongeBob in 1999 for his love of the Ocean and marine life Fun fact the SpongeBob Movie 2004 was going to be the series final but Nickelodeon saw the success of the show and wanted more episodes for this HILLENBURG left as show runner as he saw the series had reached its peak he would return in 2015 Sadly HILLENBURG was diagnosed with (ALS) and passed away in November 2018 age 57 RIP

Stephen Hillenburg is amazing. He was a marine biologist and wanted to make a “Sesame Street under the sea” he was heavily influenced by Weens album The Mollusk which you guys should totally react to. You can hear the first versions of Spongebob and Patrick’s voices on the first track, Dancing in the Show Tonight, and that song influenced how SpongeBob and Patrick should sound in the show.

Stephen Hillenburg's passing was actually pretty big. There was even a big call from fans to get the NFL to pay tribute to him during the Superbowl Halftime show the following year (for context reasons that will become apparent in a later episode of the series). Unfortunately, even though the rumor mill had people saying there was going to be a tribute, there ultimately wasn't much of anything and it got a lot of people upset. I'm surprised you guys didn't know about that.

There was a pretty big petition for the performers at the 2019 Super Bowl Halftime Show to play "Sweet Victory", the song from the episode "Band Geeks", in honor of Stephen. For better or worse, the most we got was Squidward introducing "a true musical genius who needs no introduction", the rapper Travis Scott.
