True story. I once had the girl scouts come to my house and they had a booklet of cookies and explained that we could purchase any cookies and in a week we would get them. They also explained that the school is gathering money so that they could help with after school programs for the kids. My family always busts my balls for watching anime, and yet they watch the Boondocks. They talk about how stupid the animation is in anime and they watch this show. I’m not like- there’s nothing against this show. I love it. It just seems a little stupid to bash on anime for the style (and most of the other stuff) when this show has around the same thing.
@Kyrieru2 жыл бұрын
Realistically this is basically a higher-than-average budget anime (by a studio that specializes in anime.) made specifically for an adult American audience, so it lacks a lot of the qualities that non-anime fans dislike or can't overlook. It's the same reason why many people only like Ghibli films until they run across content that appeals to them in anime.

The fact HBO Max pulled out on bringing the show back makes me so upset, I know John Witherspoon has passed but J.D. can still do a very good impression so I’m sure he could take over for Robert. Just I know this show would be such a breathe of fresh air in adult animation, and they’d also handle current political and societal issues perfectly in common Boondocks fashion. This show is just great at showing what society is a face value then just making it over the top while still having a proper message.
