It's tradition on ANZAC day for veterans to get together to raise a beer in a toast to their mates who didn't come home. That's why the pubs are open early. They go to the dawn service first to pay their respects to the fallen, then raise a toast to them at the pub afterwards.

I knew a lady who always attended the Dawn Service.I asked her why and learnt she was among the first nurses to land at Normandy. She was there when the concentration camps were liberated and ended up, " following the boys all the way to Burma".

Hi. I'm from Melbourne and I liked your enthusiasm for the place i call home. I've always thought it was a special place, so to have that re-affirmed made me proud. I also like that you didnt focus on the glitzy stuff and sat in parks walked around, and just chilled out. It was an easy watch and you felt like friends.

Fabulous to see you discovered Pellegrini's, one of my fav places and it is true about the 1st espresso machine in Aus. Also, the 1st pizza place in Aus was in Lygon Street, Carlton, our little Italy. I have lived in Melbourne for 42 years and originally from Queensland (yep, I'm an old bugga) and Queensland is totally different to Melb and Syd. Make sure you go to Healesville Sanctuary, part of Melbourne Zoo but north east of Melbourne in the 'bush'. The best place to see Australian animals up close and personal. Love watching your channel.

Great job guys attending and covering the Dawn Service with dignity and doing your research first. Melbourne prides itself on its coffee culture which is why I came straight to the comments to see what everyone said when you grabbed a 7Eleven coffee 😅 even though when I’m working that’s my go to quick coffee and I always get teased for it. Great video, enjoy the wedding. Love the postcard

Very much enjoying your videos guys. You may have already left Melbourne by now, but given that your penguin experience at Philip Island didn’t really work out, do you know that you can see Little Penguins ( they are no longer called Fairy penguins) if you jump on the 96 tram to St Kilda (25 minutes). I’m a local here, but I am still super impressed that you can see these beautiful creatures against a backdrop of the city skyline. You may also see a Rakali, a native Australian water rat, that has a fleshy white tip on the end of the tail like a Ringtail possum. You will also be able to see Luna Park, with the world’s oldest still operating roller coaster and, perhaps, sample some cakes from the remaining cake shops in Acland Street which were established by Eastern Europeans in the 1930’s and 1940’s. I trust that you will continue to enjoy your travels up the east coast.

LOL, Great video again! I'm SO glad you guys made the effort to get up with all of us who went to a dawn service. They happen all over the country and are amazing. I think our one at Cronulla had even more people than it did last year! and the number of children and kids seems to be growing each year too! It is a very special day, on which a few things special things happen only on that day. You know it's a special time/day when you're standing with thousands of others in the pouring rain and no one is going home! I hope you guys are having a great trip back home to see family. I'm so looking forward to your trip north when you get back and making your way up to Sydney. It's my city and I hope you like it too. Don't forget to look me up on here and I'll help you get about and see many of the sights Sydney and even my home town have to offer (as I did for "Rob Reacts" last year - I took them to the Blue Mountains and Many Beach). Anyway, Safe travels! 💒 🔔

Probably too hard for tourists, but the best way to observe Anzac Day is to go to one of the services in a suburb or country town. We go to the one in our own suburb. There's a short march, with a service in traditional form to follow. It's much smaller and more personal than the main marches in the city, somehow more moving.

Glad you experienced our ANZAC day. On this day Australia wide stops to remember those served in the past and present. It happens rain or shine with the only exception of COVID. Today in many of those bars diggers (soldiers) serving and non serving will be playing a game called Two Up which involves the tossing of 2 half penny coins. Players calling heads or tails. Its a shame you did not see that happening. Good luck at the wedding and look forward to your next video.
