The bit where Zach was explaining his dairy allergy kind of reminded me of my sister. She’s also allergic to dairy, but people keep thinking she’s lactose intolerant, even though she’s actually allergic to the dairy proteins. She’s had to deal with so many clueless people trying to explain her own allergy to her.

The daughter (who was 4 at the time) of a friend of mine has a dairy allergy and she ended up in hospital after she went over to play at a friend's house and the mom of that friend gave her lactose free (cows) milk. Even though my friend told the mom she has a dairy allergy and the kiddo herself also told the mom when she gave her the glass of milk. The oldest brother of the friend is lactose intolerant and the mom thought lactose intolerance and a dairy allergy are the same.

@@MagicalMissMikki not everyone in the deli will know about the cheese, but the manager definitely should! We had different mini-departments in our deli. Rotisserie, hot foods, salad bar, pre-packed salads and sandwiches, sliced meat and cheese counter, cheese bar, and our deli case with chicken salads, desserts, etc. Everyone had a different job but as the manager I was expected to be able to give customers recommendations or information on the cheeses we sold. My favorite part of the job was setting up our daily sample station because I was able to try a different cheese each day. I worked at a grocery chain in Indiana which has now closed, but I would assume the Kroger deli would be much the same. It was honestly one of my favorite jobs, I wish the grocery chain didn’t go out of business. From what I heard the founder’s sons did a bunch of money laundering and shady shit 😩

I think they all bring something a little different that the channel needs; you just don’t see it in videos. Zach brings ideas and oversees how each individual videos fits in to the big picture and brand. Keith brings comedy and the social media “hook” to engage with people and keep them coming back. And Eugene is HR and PR and helps bring them relevancy outside of KZbin.
@arielaim5687
@arielaim5687 Жыл бұрын
And I’m sure they’re all tiring in some way. Eugene has to juggle a lot of different balls and carry the pressure of being the “responsible” one all the time. Keith has to keep himself “on” constantly which can be bleh for mental health. And Zach has to spend endless time strategizing and overseeing I’m sure.

After years of working in deli, I just became a cheesemonger 3 months ago. Mind you, the term cheesemonger is most likely being used extremely loosely in our situation. There was no schooling, it's on-the-job learning about the different cheeses, doing my own research/learning at home (voluntarily) and all that. I loved it enough to put in my own work and do all that research. Now, when customers come up asking about cheeses, pairings, recommendations, and all that, I can knowledgably talk to them about the different cheeses. So glad to see you guys immersing yourself in the wonderful world of cheese!! My top 3 faves are Cotswold (English double Gloucester supplemented with chives and spring onions), St. Agur (intense double cream french blue) and the third varies but I do love a creamy goat chevre.

I had pastel green milk when our family had covid, it was just the immune response. The colour can change due to medications, foods, water content, immune responses. Pink however is pretty much solely because of bleeding in the mammary ducts, it's harmless, totally safe to feed to your own child, and if we didn't invent pumping almost no one would be aware of it being a thing.

I love how Rainie walked away thinking that the rind IS the stomach as if all cheese is made like haggis or something, even though she definitely made a rindless cheese herself 😂

Agreed, to contrast and compare. Food created and pared by a quality chef, is a thing in and of itself.

This is perhaps a suggestion that would cater to absolutely no one but me, but I'd love to see Zach and some others go to a tea tasting with a tea sommelier! I love tea, Zach loves tea, and it's incredibly fascinating to experience the kinds of flavors and aromas you can get from unflavored tea.

I loved that Jared and Raine were in this one! I know Jared's usually on cracking jokes and stuff, but I think this was an awesome video for him to show his cultured/smart side too, while having a great time and being entertaining as well! Also loved the cheese monger, excellent teacher and shared so much awesome information! Would love to see Raine in some more videos going forward too 😁

I absolutes love all the different Try Guys’ crew and friends in the recent videos. It’s really enjoyable to watch. I of course adore the classic try guys group of Keith, Zach, and Eugene, but I love the fun variety in people like Raine, Jared, Miles, Jonny, and more 🫶
