So glad we could share. Joan and I really enjoyed visiting your hometown. So friendly. Joan especially enjoyed sitting in rocking chair at Wally’s Filling Station, talking to a couple folks and hearing all thing Mt. Airy, Andy, Chang and Eng. Reminded me of Andy and Aunt Bee sitting on the porch. If you can, go to the museum. It’s a great presentation of Andy Griffith, the beloved TV show, plus you’ll see a few things of Mt. Airy past that may stir a few memories. Jerry...

Loved the video! Our Son married a girl from Pilot Mountain just down the road from Mt Airy., And that's where they live with the 3 grand babies. Just a couple miles from the campground is the school where our daughter in law teaches and our grand daughter attended Kindergarten. Such a fun area! We never run out of things to do when we visit from Michigan. We hope to see up a base camp near there so we can spend summers with the kids and travel warmer areas in the winter. So happy you filmed the Andy Griffith museum. Two shows that I loved growing up were "The Andy Griffith Show" and "The Waltons." Both were entertaining yet wholesome. If you knew me in person you'd ask why the latter was important to me (since I have a mouth like a sailor - LOL) but I do love good wholesome entertainment. Quality people and quality values deserve to be lifted up in our lives, perhaps more so every day considering the atmosphere of the world that we live in. I wonder if Ron Howard gets over that way very often to make an appearance in the town? Thanks for taking us along on your journey you two. Safe travels!

I've lived here my whole life and i can honestly say its a pretty good town. But one thing i can say is that their is a lot of drug bust right outside in Randolph County and Virginia line

We had a great time, everyone was so friendly. Unfortunately, the bad stuff is happening everywhere.

Unfortunately we didn’t. Short visit this time. Looking forward to coming back and experiencing more of what the town has to offer.

We did. You live in such a nice town. Everyone was super friendly. We missed Snappy Lunch, but the sushi and service was exceptional at Kazuku Sushi and Bar on Franklin St.

That’s quite a view. Very old school. Adds to the Mayberry feel.
