Thank you 🙏🏽 Chris, centro is definitely the spot to start which is why we started there for this video. Where should we go next? We’re thinking Coyoacan or Chapultepec

@@EatBailaTravel good question. I would lean towards Chapultepec next because it such an amazing place to me especially paired with a visit to Condesa and Roma Norte. Coyoacan to me is a chance to show more of the neighborhoods and their richness. I know you will do a great job with both.

I love your videos! Your explanations are exceptional. I fell in love with Mexico City when I went to study at Universidad Iberoamericana in 1979! I returned a year ago (2023) and fell in love all over again. I was thrilled to see the extensive excavation of the Templ Mayor. In 1979, they were going to build the subway there until they discovered a small part of these ruins. I couldn't believe the size of it now. Absolutely amazing!

Loved the start of this series! Mexico City is like no other place in the world. You have so much art, culture, architecture, and history yet it's all alive. I'e been to other global cities that are similar but many times it's to be seen at a distance. Mexico City is immersive. You're supposed to jump in feet first. Maybe the city I've experienced something close to this was Istanbul, Turkey. Thanks for this great video.

This video is A++++ I just got back (to Chicago) last week from another great trip to CDMX. You captured so much so well. In a (cyber) world of digital nomads who spend three days in Mexico City and then make vlogs about it, your videos are so refreshing-.smart, fun, and heartfelt. When I backpacked throughout Mexico for a year many many years ago, I avoided Mexico City, like the plague for months, finally wound up there, and fell in love with it. I’m so happy you two are now enjoying CDMX

I've enjoyed your videos in recent years, and I fell in love with CDMX on my first visit with my daughter in 2018. We returned for New Year's in 2022. I've watched numerous videos by others about Mexico City over the years, but yours is the best overview of el Centro that I've seen. It's presented only as people with a dual cultural background and a heart-felt love of Mexico such as your can. While your dual background helps, you also have a real talent for scenic/historical/cultural interpretation. That's why your videos are the most valuable and interesting to non-Mexican viewer such as I. Keep up the good work. I hope to get back to Mexico before too long.

Another thing to recommend about La Casa de Toño (apart from the good food, prices, and service) is that the food's always prepared in very hygienic conditions. This could be important for foreign visitors. Their pozole is fantastic. It's worth the waiting in line!

Love Mexico City. I have been going there regularly and was just there last week :) The ease of getting around with the metro, the green spaces in the middle of the city, good food and nice climate. I would get my taco from por siempre vegana or churro and coffee, and walk over to parque mexico to have my picnic :). I'm not a fan of party boat but was going to go kayaking instead, in Xochimilco but wasn't able to get there this time. Hopefully I can get a temazcal in the next time I go there (not the tourist temazcal). I caught a cold and decided to go to the doctor while it's more affordable than US. Very impressed with the doctor, a person who cares about the health of an individual rather than the $$$ coming into their pocket. My doctor's visit and medications came up to a total of US$25. I did have a few bad experiences, my glasses went missing after my massage. I'm glad they found it, don't know how my glasses was able to open the door and go down the stairs to where they found it. This would not deter me from going back to Mexico City. There are good and bad in all countries. Hope to see you guys next time I'm there :) Cuidate.

The energy at the Zocalo is crazy. Many visits the minute I stepped into the plaza sooooo much emotion and anger boiled up in me. This was before I knew the history of the space. One minute I'd want to cry and then I'd want to fight someone. Then when I would cross the street I'd feel normal. I now say a prayer asking for protection and I feel fine. La Casa De Toño is pretty good. The Zona Rosa location is a bit off. They aren't friendly to gringos. But the one you guys went to are really nice and so is the one in the San Rafael neighborhood. It's usually my go for dinner when I get in late. Pozole with all the fxins por favor. Your excitement reminds me of me when I visit and your videos make me "homesick" for the motherland lol. Heading down for a month in April, Zacatecas, Querétaro and San Cristobal in Chiapas. All places I've never been. Looking forward to the nature and exploring! And of course a few days in Cdmx to see friends.

What is going on with the water supply in Mexico City? I keep reading about a water shortage. Do tourists need to worry?
@EatBailaTravel
@EatBailaTravel 6 ай бұрын
It’s been an ongoing issue for years, it’s a combination of a lot of things such as massive residential buildings, too many people, outside corporations like Coca Cola own water resources in Mexico, lack of rain, cutting down trees, etc. It affects tourists in the sense that people tend to get sick more often due to the lack of water. Or if you stay in certain areas you can only shower certain days, etc

@EatBailaTravel
@EatBailaTravel 8 ай бұрын
As a tourist, you’ll likely be asked to be careful with your water usage at your accommodation but aside from that you shouldn’t be affected much. The city still waters its parks and as long as people continue to be cautious with water usage the city will be okay 👍🏽

When I spent 6 weeks in Guanajuato for a summer program in 2005, they warned us not to go to Mexico City because there was so much crime. Several people went and had no problem. Meanwhile in Guanajuato, one student was pushed down a steep hill as she was running and another had a computer stolen from her backpack in a "bump and switch" maneuver. Apparently these were the first crimes in Guanajuato against students in the program over many years.
