I think of my 2010 RX-8 as a 2+2 GT that leans toward a sports car, but isn't a pure sports car. I think it's good compromise with 2 usable back seats (for people or storage) and a decent amount of trunk space but still has a sporty feel.

Exactly. I wonder if Mazda will ever be able to give use another practical RX.

Some RX-7 are also 2+2 (4 seater) but you'll only fit small children there

That's true, although I'm pretty sure it'd be abusive to make children sit back there 😄
