The love between Al and Pino is so ridiculously palpable that it hits hard. I think thats why it was SO ducking easy to watch, root for, and rep those teams. It's a sad end of an era but I'm so excited to see what you all will do outside of sports. GETIT!

Alex Morgan is the reason I watch women’s soccer. My goat. She raised a whole generation and more.❤

Interview with Alex is EVERYTHING. As a fan who was incredibly inspired by and loved this generation of players, this is so unfair. Fans did not get enough time to mourn/say goodbye to Alex. Not including her on the Olympic team and then the hurried retirement from the NWSL just seems so wrong in comparison to all her sacrifices for soccer and what she meant to the fans. Seeing so many heroes leave the sport at the same time just feels so weird. It's hard to imagine the USWNT without Pinoe, Alex, Ertz, Becky, O'Hara, Tobin, etc, etc. The confidence and swagger they had is like nothing we'll see again for a long time. Thanks for inspiring us ladies. Thanks for all the battles you won on and off the field. Thanks for the inspiration. I miss these girls already. :(

Outstanding interview with Alex. I have followed all 3 of your careers. (I was at Soldier Field for Megan's last National Team game and at Snapdragon for her last NWSL game.) All 3 of you are so very inspiring and simply fun to follow. Looking forward to the next chapters. Thank you!

A whole ass episode just for Alex. Love it and you guys!!! Without Alex playing and her caché, it'll be hard to get thru more contract improvements in the NWSL and USWNT CBAs or more protections. There's not 1 "superstar(s)" that had her global power to be able to make the kind of impact she had. May need more Michele Kangs.

Pinoe’s right, I have also noticed how everything Alex is involved in becomes successful. Basically she has the Midas touch. Previously I chalked it up to luck and timing but it really does seem like it’s as simple as hard-work and preparation. Fans are so lucky she’s in women’s sports.

Sadly I think a lot is down to her looks. People are nicer to good looking people and they have way more opportunities and positivity around them. That said, Alex is a good person and has been very giving in using her blessings to really help every other woman's athlete when she could have just taken everything for herself like the biggest stars in the mens league do.
@anne81803 ай бұрын
@@JohnPigdenI agree John but I also think all of them are good-looking so idk how to reply to your comment.
@JohnPigdenАй бұрын
@@anne8180 Sorry for late reply but I just wanted to clarify that I personally also find every player good-looking. Generally speaking any woman who loves football I instantly like. My point was more in terms of mainstream universal appeal Alex Morgan ticked literally every box for what was considered desirable and marketable in the 2010s. Boys crushed hard on her and girls looked up to her that pretty much she was blessed with everyone liking her, and not getting run down. My point was simply being so liked where people are happy just to be around you does give someone such an advantage in their ability to make stuff happen.

1st time i saw Alex play was the 2008 U20 world cup final and she scored one of those rare goals that make, Time stop and your Jaw drop ! and i thought who is this Kid ? Alex is the definition Non Lazy forward, Always making runs, Running the hard yards, Nightmare for defenders , Alex never took a game off in 15 years !!

For Alex, I found working out at home gets me what I need while also showing my kids how important my health and fitness is to me. Also you can squeeze it in when you need to. I follow cdornerfitness, she has tons of workouts to choose from, positive messaging and doesn’t kill you. Finding something like this might give you the balance you need. -former athlete, ATC, mom

1:08:27 i have been waiting for years for this umami level no filter post retirement trash talking 🤣 at the time i felt like the English were so trolled so hard into embarassment oblivion they were trying to put the celebration under this perspective of being disrespectful and unsportsmanlike conduct. I didn't think Alex should have backed down or lied that it was some game of thrones reference. I wish Alex and the whole team just owned it and channel Pinoe's middle fingers up energy 😂 especially since the game was won in such dominating gorilla chest pounding fashion. Let's not forget in that game Uncle's penalty cockblock 😂😂 like yeah BISH, this is how Americans have PROPPAH tea time 😆☕️ 🦅🇺🇲 rawr rawr
@JohnPigden3 ай бұрын
I'm English and it was actually even worse than you are describing based on so many little things that were happening here at the time. It was the first time I remember the country properly getting behind the Lionesses and embracing the idea of our women's football and not making distasteful jokes about them. Of course we knew about Alex Morgan as any boy who grew up playing in that era had the biggest crush on her but we'd evolved and grown up from a fans perspective to now cheer for our actual national team rather than just cheering for the hot girl. Also for girls here Alex was who they aspired to be as she along with the movie Bend it Like Beckham really did help to remove so many negative stigmas for girls playing and made it so much more socially acceptable and dare I say even cool now. So when it was Alex that knocked us out and she celebrated in a way that mocked us it just hurt so bad. Had it been any other player it still would have been annoying, but coming from her just cut so darn deep because she was so loved here yet that celebration at the time made it feel like she hated us and was teasing us. Imagine the most popular cheerleader from a high school beating the wallflower social outcast and then dunking on them afterwards, That's what it felt like. I agree that she shouldn't have backed down and claimed she got it from Sophie Turner's that the tea thing. It was a legendary needle and she should have totally owned it and been proud of it but perhaps clarify afterwards that she was just having a bit of fun and that she doesn't actually think less of her English fanbase.

Keep talking it up ladies but anyone who can read can see that you didn't achieve equal pay despite the great fight you put up. You actually rejected the equal pay deal, you all know that, and settled instead on a deal that means the more the men win, the more the women earn. In a way its an even bigger win than equal pay in terms of dollars ( if the men win ) but in terms of the cause it takes us back 50 years to when the man was the breadwinner and the woman's financial contribution was much less. So now the team has to hope the men do well so that they will get enough of a slice of their winnings that they can get that big house with a pool and a tennis court down the road. The gamble doesn't pay off as well if the men lose all the time. Time to start talking about prize money on offer being better I think. Anyway Alex is a legend and i hoped she would be interviewed by two of the greats in women's sport and it was worth the watch.

Why is Charlie even flying 5 hours with Alex to away matches instead of staying home with dad? Casey Stoney was trying to figure out how to turn Charlie into a super sub from the bench?? Is Servando a partner or just a sperm donor 😅 ??? I think it would be very helpful in strengthening your personal relationship and work life if Megan/Sue and Alex/Servando catch a session with Esther Perel on her Where Should We Begin/How's Work podcast 👌

Sue's allergic to cats, so most likely not. It's an archetype for a woman who prioritizes other things than finding a husband and having children, more than it is an actual childless cat lady.
