I flew all the way from Toronto to Seattle for the special weekend! It was the best weekend of my life for sure. Getting to go to the storm game was amazing but being at the jersey retirement.. sobs the whole time. Megan you have changed my life in many ways and I just can't thank you enough for everything. Oldster Gen Jones here, watched you when you hit the scene, knew there was a certain 'don't f*ck with me' and 'I will be the best, dammit!' attitude that was going to make for a fun ride. You and Julie Ertz, the two most impressive debuts on National team. Thanks for the great moments you gave us on the field and off the field. And having the strength to stand up for what is right despite the risk to career and life! Sam Mewis' was retired start of season with Courage. Attacking3rd mentioned it on Wed podcast, seems like Abby's or some others from early NWSL days would be retired?

Wife and I were at Megan's Jersey retirement and it was awesome! Such an electric environment. And Sue is right....the new NWSL CBA (Which is awesome, congrats to them!!!!) would have NO SHOT to work in pro basketball...Actually, a CBA like that (specifically not having a draft), would probably destroy the WNBA and NBA as we know them.

Basketball needs a draft, unlike soccer. Basketball is a high-scoring game, soccer is a low-scoring game. The influence of stars is much higher, especially as Bird noted that basketball only has 5 players, in contrast to 11 players in soccer.
