Idk which book of Macabees told the story of a mother watching her seven sons get tortured and killed by being flayed and roasted or fried by the Seleucids for not eating and spitting pork. The eldest son stated that they will not break the law ( eating unclean food)even if it means death. This angered the king (Antiochus IV Epiphanes) whot ordered that the pan be heated as hot as it can. all sons were flayed, limbs cut and tossed at the hot pan while their mother watched. The mother also died at the endbut the cause was uncleared ( maybe the pain as a witness to her sons death or took her own life)

I thought for a second that this video was about a conspiracy about Charles Martel (the palace's mayor of the Merovingian dynasty) being jewish.

Macebee comes from the hebrew word "makevet" or warhammer (technically a sledgehammer but usually its used in the context of war). So macebee means "of the warhammer" or "son of the warhammer"

Ok BUT! I want to know if this man was a vague template for the Warrior-Priests of Sigmar in WHFantasy. An extremely motivated, armored holy man wielding a shield and a hammer, possibly with backup sword. But the Sigmar priests wield hammers because Sigmar did, so maybe just coincidence.
@yochaiwyss3843
@yochaiwyss3843 26 күн бұрын
Part-Coincidence. Jewish Religious Tradition involved a lot of Warrior-Priests or Warrior-Prophets, as described in the Book of Judges. The "Maccabi" moniker being translated into a "Warhammer" is but one of the versions, putting emphasis on how he crushed the Selucids rather than actually wielding one.

1 Maccabees be like: story of Brothers Judah, Yonatan and Shimon. 2 Maccabees be like: Jason of Cyrene made this: Letters of the Jews in Egypt, the story before the Maccabees (especially to Eleazar's death and the gruesome desths of 7 brothers and their mother) and Judas Maccabeus. In other words, Jason is a Judas simp for better reasons.

Well The Spartans actually congratulated Hasmonian for victory over the Selucids(and signed Alliance)so it wasn't views by Greeks as "Jewish win over Greeks" just revolt against Selucids oppression,also Hasmonian themselves were very hellenized,the kings had Greek and Jewish names,the Synagogues of that time(if you look from Galilee or Gaza)are still very "hellenic" with images of people in there so yea it kinda how the right wing Israelis are politically against the Arabs but if you ask them(especially in early years of the state)they would watch Egyptian movies and admire Arabic music...
