Weapon Guide: Splattershot in Salmon Run (Splatoon 3)

A few things: 1 - I was sick when I recorded this lol 2 - I've changed the format a little to remove some fluff - hope it makes the videos a bit more concise 3 - I didn't have any footage of the most recent buff to the weapon - Nov 2024 - so I haven't gone into further detail or shown footage 4 - I had a section about sub-strafing but I decided to cut it as squid roll is a thing now, and sub-strafing was more important in S2 compared to S3. I'd still recommending incorporating it into your playstyle, but I don't think it's that vital now we squid roll 5 - I hope you like Sockeye !!!! Splattershot is such a boring weapon, I had all the footage I needed from one rota lmao 6 - ily all, sorry for the slow uploads

The paradox of a weapon that can do everything is that it is much harder to know what you should be doing at any given time. Weapons like the Splatershot must play around and fill their teams weaknesses to be fully effective, not just do whatever they want. I can't tell you how many times I'll be on a team winning wave after wave only to slam into a brick wall because I was shackled with the one weapon that can't hoard control or re-ink and everyone else just isn't doing it.

Yes, I agree and I find the biggest culprit is players forgetting to keep the map painted when they have a weapon that is best for that.

Splattershot. The basic, plain bread of salmon run. Does everything just well enough that it doesn't stand out. You strangely don't see it that often, though, outside of last Eggstra Work. Strange. Get well soon, I always look forward to these videos. I'm on a bit of a Splat break, but I'm def coming back for Big Run and the Gold Rotation.

I like to this of the splattershot along with some other shooters as the primary leader of a comp and/or a group in salmon run as it has and can have many different roles. It might be pretty basic and boring to play and/or to have in salmon run, but it's pretty satisfying when it comes to slaying many bosses and lessers. I also find it helpful in assisting teammates and collecting eggs. As for what Mr. Grizz says about this weapon, "Splattershots really come in really come in handy to increase productivity."

100% yeah, it really is such a valuable weapon to have because it can just fit so naturally into any comp and do well at everything.

That was an excellent video. I'm glad you were able to include the information you wanted while also feeling like you could shorten the length of the video. What do you think about making videos that demonstrate good Salmon Run prioritization skills in practice? For instance, videos that show a few seconds of footage at a specified difficulty level, pause for a moment, and quiz viewers what they should prioritize next in a given situation, before moving on to a different clip at a different difficulty level?

I've always liked seeing shot in rotation. It's such a basic, easy to use weapon, it is not just a shooter, it is The shooter. Average range, average damage, average ink efficiency, it's good because it's not bad at anything.
