People's problem with thunderlord is that they either think it's way better or way worse than it actually is. It's a gun about consistency and ease of use. Not maximum DPS. A blueberry with thunderlord hitting 750,000 is better than that same blueberry hitting 300,000 bc they miss 60% of moving targets with rockets. Thunderlord is there for your friend who doesn't play a lot of destiny, but wants to raid with the boys sometimes.

I will always say this that the div thunderlord bug is both a blessing and a curse. It was a blessing because one phasing bosses with thunderlord was so easy and fun that it was insane and I genuinely miss it. But it was also bad because it and the retrofit bug have gaslit a huge amount of people that a least are both good guns and at most all machine guns are dps weapons while pulling out damage numbers from the two specifically bugged to do insane damage.

Certain builds are able to do ad clear with abilities, I.e. banner titan, sunbracers, liars/assassin cowl hunters. This allows you to use 2 special weapons that are not ad clear, especially if you have a cenotaph warlock on your team or special finisher.

Also forgot to mention that in certain use cases these ad clear weapons can be too effective, in certain raid situations you might accidentally trigger a mechanic or kill some ads that were purposely left alive for someone using surrounded for max DPS

Not a bad video. I can't wait to see what bungie adds in TFS. If you think about it most of the categories were either just 1 single weapon or didn't really exist for a long time or at least didn't have as defined of a role. I am excited to see the new support auto rifle we are getting in TFS. I hope to see more movement weapons as well. Eager edge is great but it would be cool if we could do that with a gun or like have a glaive that give a bakris dodge on every class.

As someone who really likes snipers, even jn PvE, I gotta say there is more to it. I really dislike scouts as I agree the playstyle is kinda boring, yet snipers can still be played offensively, especially when you play your strafe well, or else you'll get flinched to the moon And unlike Slug shotguns you can still do this from a bit further.

Dude, you gotta teach me how to snipe because I must be doing something wrong haha, I use cloudstrike and Izzy in dps rotations and whisper for oryx and supremacy if I need a sniper for anything else (that one I do play aggressively with because kinetic tremors)

@@PitOfHeresyEnjoyer DL;DR at the end So the snipers you mention are best for DPS and general play like that. I really do enjoy the succession aswell (recon vorpal) as I use it most for mayor targets. Going for a quick snipe before an enemy is trying to shoot you is the best way to garantee a shot (recom is prolly better for that). But have you heard about how to move to avoid enemies? You can combine that with snipers, while still being more than an arms lengh away from enemies (unlike with shotguns). Combine that with a very agressive playstyle where you go in, headshot high value enemies before they can even react and then proceed to do your thing. Works basically anywhere when practised a bit. I also got myself a High Ground sniper and want to combine that with stasis titan, as the crystals do count and with the buff it'll be even better. Combine that with a good sidearm and you got every range covered (even if you only need mid to close when doing it right). And sure, there are better options, but Snipers are just so satisfying. TL;DR: Snipers are masters of surprise (they flinch alot and get flinched even more) Edit: I use shotguns (pellet) when close combat like Ecthar though, since there is always gonna be something right there and shooting at you

Overall a great video. my only complaints/ things which would really improve the video, are: If you are talking about specific weapons, it would be nice to have gameplay with said weapon in the background, maybe even showcasing what it is currently doing. You did that with the tractor cannon, which was great, but I missed it during the heritage perk discussion. The othe rrecommendation would be, especially talking about boss dps weapons or major melting weapons to show some numbers. This would help dispell the thunderlord hype if you had shown a dmg comparion with an apex predator for example overall a great video, something destiny 2 youtube content has been missing

You should have included chill clip in your utility section, for instance, Lingering Dread with disorienting grenades and chill clip can slow/freeze and disorienting groups of ads or majors.

I thought about adding that but opted against it since I saw chill clip as more of a killing things perk instead of a perk that functions without needing an enemy (eager edge, shoot to loot, etc). Admittedly it works well as a crowd control perk which should’ve been a category I dived into. Maybe I make a full video on chill clip in the future.

In a situation where dps is super tight, yes, recombination would be a better choice but you’d probably want it on a weapon other than heritage (mountaintop would be better because no need for crit and good handling). Although in those scenarios a parasyte + damage super will get the job done. Good call tho, that’s exactly what I was making the video for, so people can tell for themselves what a weapon is meant for 💪💪

Wish keeper I would argue goes into utility but tractor cannon I would put into support since I think it’s debuff usage is (normally) prioritized over crowd control. @@PitOfHeresyEnjoyer I'm just kidding I know it's not the top damage but as someone who only uses lfg for teams I have found teams do the most dmg with thunder lord as with the boss moving players cannot hit their shots and will miss alot / be to focused on dmg and die to rhulk. The benefit to thunderlord is you can't fuck it up lol. Players can hip fire it and can be less focused on their dmg and more on where rhulk is and therefore stay alive longer which at the end of the day is all that matters. Dead dps is no dps.
