Hi Frank from Pennsylvania student Jeff. Another awsome video. Thank you teacher. Beth and I are headed to our Maine off grid cabin next month. I can hardly wait. 😊😊 God bless. Some monkeys use them for flea control. 😊

In your off grid cabin..will you still have cell service? Have I sent you photos of my off grid cabin I built on the lower part of my 18 acres below my legit house?

@@natureatyourdoor not yet Frank. Some time come up with us. It's not fancy. No electricity and the water you carry from the spring. But it is so beautiful and wild. . When I retire my goal is to be a full-time woods bum. Hunting, fishing,trapping and foraging. For most of my time. . 5 more years. Then full pension from Pennsylvania game commission. And I love my job.. I work in the woods and get well paid. God has been very good to me and I do not deserve it. I love God's creation. 😊😊

Interesting. I knew some monkeys in tropical regions actually take advantage of the chemical defenses of the giant millipede. Certain species of monkeys have been observed "playing" with the giant millipede and causing them irritation so that the millipede exudes its toxins. They then rub the aggravated millipede over their fur as a sort of makeshift insect repellent that actually works! I was unaware that native species had similar chemical defenses but it certainly makes sense. Very informative, thanks for the upload. 😊

They are everywhere here in southeast asia during rainy days.

Wow , fascinating! And awesome to hear from southeast Asia. Do they look just like this one? I am imagining in a tropical environment there would be more species as well?
@ericwicaksana6 ай бұрын
@@natureatyourdoor Yes exactly like that. We call them Singsing Pari or "priest" millipedes because of the look. Its common in our backyard, they love munching dead leaves especially in the raining season when its wet and humid outside. I'm not an expert but I'm sure there are plenty of species out here in our backyard 😃.

It is so sad that the insects with beautiful colors are so dangerous
@markspina76236 ай бұрын
These guys only release it when angered. I can pick them up but if I shake them in my hand then they release it. I own about 20 of them. Ppl say you can’t keep them in captivity they will die however I find that not true. There are different color variations. Found many in my garden and now they are my compositors
