Age is such a weird thing! You're always the oldest you've ever been and the youngest you'll ever be again and it's just generally overwhelming. . I'm 23 and I know I still feel so old sometimes, especially when I'm around my younger friends and cousins.... But then there was that line at 3:53 about pretending to be 23 and I felt called out, haha, like I'm the younger age he wishes he was. It's weird, because I know I'm 'young', but I'll be turning 24 next month and my gosh that just sounds so _old_ to me, like I still don't even know how to be like, an adult person? . tl;dr Age is strange and terrifying, I guess.

@jacobcrowder26003 жыл бұрын
I didn't catch it until you pointed it out. Puts context to the whole video. The video is an internal emotional breakdown brought on by how angry his birthday celebration made him. I just thought the video was an art piece to express how he feels but it's more than that: it's him having an emotional breakdown at the dining room table because his birthday pisses him off. Everything in the video is happening in his head while he has a panic attack and dissociates from the birthday dinner, to put it differently

@WinedandDined273 жыл бұрын
@@OakForestBoys that's one definition of it, but that doesn't make much sense. What's tragic about a knock-knock joke? Or a Family Guy bit? or, like 90% of stand up comedy? Good ol' FN said comedy is subversion, so comedy being tragedy plus time is wildly subjective (and not even true if you think about it, but again, subjective.) I still don't see how it's funny. was it funny that when blink 182 came out with what's my age again when kids born in the mid-70s were about to turn 23? to me, you could say that about anything. when "fuck the police" came out, was it funny bc there were ppl who also hated the police at that time? and again, how is it ironic? "irony" is when something you wouldn't expect to happen, happens. again, similar to subversion. did you *not* expect anyone to come out with a song about turning 30 in the year 2020? what is ironic about it? i just think you are misusing words, and are obviously misunderstanding their definitions. when Taylor Swift came out with the song 22 when i was 22, along with so many other ppl, it wasn't funny. i don't get the inclusion of the 90s kids' thing either, other than the fact that they are about to turn 30, why is it funny? did nobody expect them to ever turn 30? I'm just missing the humour here entirely.

@WinedandDined273 жыл бұрын
@@OakForestBoys it doesnt seem like i misunderstood anything, i asked u to elaborate in case i had misunderstood and you doubled down on yr sentiment that didn't make any sense. it's so interesting how difficult it is for ppl to admit they're wrong or don't know something. you misused words, didn't know their definitions and made a statement that grammatically made no sense, that's all. you could simply edit it if you wanted in order to make it make sense. I'm not being rude, just helping you is all. better to misuse words anonymously online and have a stranger correct you and learn now than to make a fool of yourself in front of ppl whom you actually care about or want to impress. (word to the wise, for the small % of the population who does know the actual meaning of the word 'ironic' it drives the majority of them crazy on the inside when like 80% of ppl constantly misuse it. instances like these are super easy ways to humble yrself and learn something to avoid being thought of unflatteringly sometime down the line.) it's hard to convey intonation via typing but i was being genuine, not a dink. didn't have to become a lecture if you just admitted you didn't know what the words you were using meant. there is a world where you respond to my initial comment somewhere along the lines of "oh shit haha you're right, my bad." and we clink our virtual beers with a smile and a wink. and fwiw, I'm probably not that fun at parties anymore, I'm 30 haha.

I'll never forget wandering into the outdoor arena and seeing Josh wrapped around his Mic stand screaming out his pain. I was immediately hooked and having never heard of them before began scrambling to find out who these guys were. The more I discovered the deeper the addiction to their music became. Then we saw them play the El Rey in downtown L A in one of the best shows I've ever seen! I've been going to rock shows in Los Angelas since 1978 so I've seen alot of bands and one thing the great's have in common is that they play it like they mean it. Badflower has a real touch of genius. I really hope they can continue to create and survive this Covid shutdown. We had tickets to see them this year and of course the show was cancelled. We will be the first in line to get tickets as soon as we can all get back to live shows. Please keep releasing new music like this. We need you.

Next month will be 30… 🎂 And was looking for a song that I’ll play on it. Wasn’t expecting to find one, that matches myself so perfectly!!! 😍❤️🎂🥳

I love that he chose not to rhyme in the "you know my only hope is for a better life" and the music dropped out, and then the outro we did not expect 😍They totally get dynamics and kick ass!

This video does a great job of showing what it like to live in 2020 as well as grow up in America. I love the single shot look of the video, and the ending is perfect.

About to turn 32. Turning 30 is weird. You feel like you have to be an "adult" and then feel inside you wanna put an emoji mask and party with your friends
@LTR14203 жыл бұрын
Summed it up perfect. Then when you try to party like you used to, you immediately remember why you don't do it anymore.

I turned 29 in March. Spent 7 years drinking and hiding from my trauma and issues that I didn’t want to face. I’m 1 year, 7 months sober now and I feel like I’m finally growing past my arrested development, negativity, all of that, and my mind is expanding rapidly, realized a LOT about life in the past couple months in particular, and shit is coming so fast. I heard this song on my local radio station and immediately liked the sound, and immediately connected to some of the lyrics. I asked Siri who it was, screenshotted it, listened to it, and realized I connect with ALL of the lyrics. THEN I listened to Family. And, bro. I just. Thank you Josh, and Badflower, for being here during this period of my life. I discovered you guys at exactly the right time and it blows my mind.

Most of the popular artist are in their late 20's or older, so these kids are listening to people like the baby, lil baby, cardi b, etc.... so shit we can still have a good time.
