That way, they could have evaluated Lawson and placed him in that second Red Bull seat after the summer break, instead of dealing with this costly and messy situation.

@ashaideСағат бұрын
Because if the money from the sponsors of Perez offsets the money lost from losing even P2 in the WCC, then that's definitely a win. Add to the fact that you lose testing and research time the higher you go up the rankings of WCC. The bad form of the RB20 could be attributed to RB Main getting WCC pole two in a row PLUS penalties from exceeding the cost cap. With Newey not around anymore to "correct" any... misconceptions about the aero of the cars, especially leading to 2026, that P3, if mitigated by money from sponsors, gives the RB tech team more time, literally, to do testing, especially the increased Wind Tunnel time. And don't forget that RBR will be its own engine manufacturer in 2026. They DEFINITELY need all the testing time they can get. Also, unlike the other teams in the grid except for Haas, RBR is a marketing tool for the drink. It sells EXPERIENCES and personalities. There is no Red Bull car on the road that can benefit from the Constructors, but marketing the energy drink will always hinge on it being associated with champion extreme athletes. Plus, Checo sells loads of the cans in Latin America, Mexico, and North America.

I definitely can see the move happening but I feel like the one thing no one is talking about is how giving colapinto to RB means Williams is potentially improving one of their closest championship rivals. I know they have ambitions to challenge the top teams but right now (and 2025 at least) that’s not happening. The pay day for letting him go may equate to more money than they’d get in prize money for moving up the standings, rendering this a moot point, but hard to say at this juncture.
@guitarsimon126 минут бұрын
Honestly I think the more Red Bull move would be to put Colapinto in the RBR seat, he seems at least on Lawson's level speed wise, comes across as more charismatic and marketable (no offense Liam) and has a much bigger home base demographic/population wise, he's kind of all the best aspects of Red Bull's existing and past drivers rolled into one!
@James-gx9gnСағат бұрын
He isn't ideal because there are other Redbull juniors who are doing well in lower formula series. The Redbull junior ladder has taken a bit of a beating over the last couple of years with VCARB using De Vries and Ricciardo. If they choose Colapinto, Red Bull risk alienating future talent that might consider joining their program especially with drivers like Hadjar in the hunt for the F2 title.
@felipeperez3744Сағат бұрын
The ideal signing at RB should be someone who speaks loud and clear enough to tell car designers "let's desing a car such that both drivers can perform AND develop it through the year in such a way BOTH drivers can perform". Something like 2022 car development: both drivers can cope with it and produce good results. If you do not believe me, just search about 2022 season and watch the main GP results.
@f1-mag10 минут бұрын
Yeah because the car was understeery the first part of the season. Checo was alright in keeping up but Max still had the edge. But Max probably wouldn’t had been as dominant if the car stayed like that. It became faster because of the sharper front end and Max pulled away while Checo stayed at the same level pretty much. So why hold back Max if he is the one that actually gives the team the results.

Colapinto would be mad to sign with Red Bull. They chew up and spit out drivers at an astonishing rate and the last time they signed a Williams refugee he was fired less than halfway through the following season. To date only four drivers (Vettel, Ricciardo, Verstappen and Sainz) have ever managed to parley a drive with Toro Rosso/Alpha Tauri/RB into a sustained, successful F1 career and one of them (Sainz) had to jump ship to a different team to do it (the jury is out on whether Albon will end up joining that group, my money is on no but again, even if he does his success will be despite Red Bull's involvement rather than because of it). If there's a prospect of a drive ANYWHERE else, even if it means waiting until 2026, I'd be investigating that first and only taking the Red Bull shilling if I had literally no other options for staying in F1.

Even Edd himself said Albon is a future WC, LMAO no. You could argue Franco is just very very good just like Alex, again I dont believe that to be the case. Aren't RB in talks with AT&T for next season as a sponsor? Looks like theyre weaning themselves off the Perez/Latin America sponsorship teat.

Max has 10 races without a win. This can go to many more races without winning. Can the race start making videos about it?.

Now the car isn't great (Newey leaving) max is their biggest problem. He doesn't want competition and that's fair enough but they are so reliant on him that they can't afford to pi33 him off- there's the problem. He isn't enough to make up for the car deficit any longer and if they want constructors they need to get rid of him and get to A+ driver's rather than one elite. Which tbh is also a tough sell now, i personally think they're fuc ed

HIts bad enough what RB have done to their own junior drivers, let alone trying to poach a potentially good driver from another team, How does it go......take a driver with potential, put them either, in a second rate junior car to stagnate their career, or put them in a potentially great car designed and setup entirely to suit another driver, until you've done to them, what Mclaren did to Ricciardo. Repeat until you run out of drivers.

I know Colapinto is doing ok but the disrespect to Yuki, Lawson, hadjar, lindblad and Iwasa is so bad.

So, use Colapinto to cover up the complete failure of RBR and the joke Marko's entire driver strategy? Yeah, sounds typical of toxic RBR. As a Williams fan, I dont want him going anywhere, but equally I recognise that right now Williams can't offer him the car he deserves, and a massive check from scum like RBR would probably help build the team more than Colapinto's driving can. However, RBR is as likely to destroy him as make him. I'd be wary of that. Personally, I'd like to see Albon move to whatever the second RBR team is called, and Colapinto stay at Williams with some big Carlos Slim backing. I believe medium term Williams will give him more than RBR will, and develop him as both a driver and person infinitely more than RBR can. All of which goes in the bin as soon as money gets involved. So........ God F1 depresses me
