I think a big reason Woo decided to take Tony to the finale was because just three years earlier, he watched Fabio win it all. Fabio is probably the closest archetype to Woo, so I can see Woo believing he could pull off a win the same way Fabio did. If he betrayed Tony though, that might’ve clashed with the "Fabio-like" image he was going for. So instead, he took Tony to the end, confident he was about to get the win.

I’ve been wondering for YEARS why he made this move, this makes sense
@TheRebelDog18 күн бұрын
He was recruited and never watched the show before I’m pretty sure. He just wanted to take the honorable approach
@pkspam18 күн бұрын
@TheRebelDogthey make you watch a bunch of seasons to be on survivor, even if you're recruited. They want everyone to have some sense of good gameplay, otherwise the show would be a lil'... yikes
@OnceUponAnIsland18 күн бұрын
Watching a bunch of seasons in only a couple of months leaves no room to digest anything and really only explains the game at a surface level.

I feel like Woo thought he played a much more honorable game than he actually did because he wasn't outwardly antagonistic.
@TheChamp3318 күн бұрын
Woo only had 1 vote cast against him the entire season and that was until the Final 4, his game changed for the better when Lindsay quit & Cliff got blindsided, and simply… he could’ve won if he would’ve just voted out Tony. He honestly changed the landscape of Survivor forever by voting off Kass.
@ryhi518 күн бұрын
Not true. Spencer's alliance tried to vote him off, and had Spencer simply played his idol on the correct member of his alliance (Jeremiah) then he would have successfully idoled out Woo and potentially changed everything, so actually Woo received 4 votes.

Woo is such a funny and likeable character. I think he would've made a very fine winner if he didn't make the dumbest move in survivor history (in my opinion).
@AGJ11718 күн бұрын
When Woo voted out Kass, I don't remember being shocked, I think I was just annoyed that Woo let Tony get as far as he did, while being glad that Tony would probably beat him. I didn't like Tony at the time, and I was even more annoyed that the Tyler Perry idol gave him an easier pass to the end, but after Spencer left I wanted him to win over Kass and definitely over Woo. I really learned to like Woo in Cambodia, though, and wish that he had lasted longer in that season.

When I saw it when it aired, I remember being a little surprised the vote wasn't closer because the jury disliked Tony a lot. But thinking about in retrospect, the jury looked at Woo the way Spencer described, and if Woo did everything Tony did then they might as well vote for the one pulling the moves. It makes a lot more sense now.

I think Woo’s final 3 decision kind of makes sense if he was thinking of Tony as a Russel Hantz type of player, especially due to how much Tony pissed off a lot of the Jury.

true but it seems like the jury that season liked russel hanz and although they hated tony, they respected him like he was russel hanz

Woo made the single biggest mistake in Survivor history by taking Tony to the finals. Eric giving up his individual immunity idol and James being sent to the jury with 2 idols in his pocket were not good but the two of them were not guaranteed a million dollars because they still had to make it to the finals. However Woo taking Cass instead of Tony would have guaranteed Woo the win. In my opinion the biggest mistake in the history of survivor.
