We have a C85845. In the forecast box there are 4 icons lit right now. Starting at top left and going clockwise we have a medium cloud, a bright sun, a large cloud with a smaller cloud, and a small cloud. What is the best way to figure out the forecast with these seemingly conflicting icons? Thanks!
@lacrossetechnology7 ай бұрын
This sounds like a partly sunny forecast prediction. We cover this topic extensively in our C85845 video here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qXaVgIKGi7Giptksi=GcbX9uvnwYi5UxRn&t=1024 -- And additional information can be found on page 6 of the full manual here: bit.ly/c85845_manual

I have a simple alarm clock with temperature humidity, it also show the weather forecast, but I still don't know how it works and how accurate is that forecast.
@lacrossetechnology Жыл бұрын
Without knowing the specific model you own, it is hard for us to provide further feedback. However, assuming it is not connected to Wi-Fi, the forecast icons should work as described in this video, using the internal barometer to show conditions to come within the next 6-12 hours. After the first 10 days, these should be accurate about 60%-80% of the time.

What are the 123 buttons on the back of the sensor, I figure they have to do with range or a different frequency being sent out for going through walls but you are the weather station wizard
@lacrossetechnology2 ай бұрын
Hi David, certain station models offer the ability to use separate channels for adding multiple temperature/humidity sensors around your home (freezers, garage, nursery, etc.). The 123 switch inside the battery compartment of these sensors offers this function, telling the display which sensor is on which channel. If you have questions or need product-specific support, our staff is here to help. Just message them here: bit.ly/contact_techsupport, or alternatively, send a private message on our Facebook: bit.ly/LaxTech_Facebook page.

How do I get my wind sensor to connect. I've had it by the unit for an hour or so. It will be mounted about 100 ft from the house.

Hey Kathryn, sorry for the trouble. If you sensor hasn't connected within the first 10 minutes, please try a basic restart as covered here: bit.ly/basic_restart -- If this still doesn't get it connected, please message our support staff directly here: bit.ly/contact_techsupport. What are the tree and flower icons for in the forcast section of the weather. Sometimes they are on, somtimes they are off. What do they mean?
@lacrossetechnology3 жыл бұрын
Hey Stanley, great question! The various tree and/or other icons around many of our stations' forecast sections can have varying meanings. For instance, some will adjust according to the weather forecast and others will simply change to represent the four seasons. If you could pass along your item's model number we'd be happy to provide specific details.

Hey quick question what do I do with the remote do I put it inside or outside?
@lacrossetechnology3 жыл бұрын
Hey Summer, for accurate outdoor temperature and humidity values, you will want to mount your remote sensor outside in a fully shaded and well-ventilated area. Under an eave on a North-facing wall is often a great spot. Our video here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/q3K0e6OKj9OVjaM talks about this specifically.

Hey Zachary, sorry for the trouble. If your station uses a color LCD, please be sure to power it using the provided power cord. Battery power only will not allow for a constant backlight. Does it use complex algorithm or it is so simple based just on rising and falling in pressure 🤔 I hope it uses a complex algorithm like the zambretti one and another inquiry why the forecast should get more accurate by time ? I want a scientific anwer not that of acclimatisation !! My Last inquiry I live in a place where it never rains for half of the year like that of southern califronia would my station recognize that ? I hope i get satisfying answers cause I am buying a one .thanks
@lacrossetechnology2 жыл бұрын
Hi Mahmoud, our weather stations use a chipset that primarily focuses on the rising and falling of barometric pressure to predict forecast changes, we would not consider this a "complex algorithm". As for why forecast predictions should become more accurate over time, the answer is simply that it has more previous data to go off of (barometic highs and lows) to make better predictions for your weather to come. As long as you don't live in an area of super high elevation, your station's predictions should be quite accurate. However, if you're worried about this, looking into a WiFi connection product is another option. These stations can pull current and future weather data from Internet to show on your weather station display. Find out more about those here: www.lacrossetechnology.com/pages/la-crosse-view

@@lacrossetechnology I live on a 4 feet elevation on the Mediterranean coast north of Egypt to be accurate so no worry about that . My concern is that we have a rainy season here and the rain is really not that much about 300 or 400 mm at maximum per year and we have a dry season , so during the dry season will it know that we don't have rain or continue to show false rain forecast ?! And I don't want connected unit as I already have access to Internet predictions what I need is a tailored forecast based on my own barometric pressure reading and if the forecast accuracy is 80 % as you claim that would be a great deal of course that a so simple device without any super capabilities can do this !
@lacrossetechnology2 жыл бұрын
@@Mahmoudzabady As long as when the unit is first powered on it is not during an extreme barometric high or low for your area the unit should be able to learn over time to give you accurate forecast predictions, during both the dry and rainy season.
@Mahmoudzabady2 жыл бұрын
I purchased this unit it is so cool and I belive it measures temp and humidity accurately . When I first set it up the pressure was 1013 by default while actually it was 1009, was I supposed to adjust it ? Second question in late spring and summer we sometime get low pressure which brings hot waves and dusty winds but never rains, I am curious about how the unit would deal with that ? What I want to say : low pressure does not always bring rain so how would it distinguish between that one associated with hot dusy dry wind (occurs in late spring and summer )or the one that brings rainy conditions (occurs in late autumn and winter ) as both of them are trending low ?!
@lacrossetechnology2 жыл бұрын
@@Mahmoudzabady, You can adjust your custom barometric pressure number at any time if you believe it to be off. This can help the device adjust more accurately to your location. As for low pressures in your area, it is possible the unit will predict rain during these times, as that is what it was designed to do. Again, for more location specific forecasts a connected model that pulls data from the Internet could be a better choice for these situations. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Why is the indoor temperature light so dim?
@lacrossetechnology2 жыл бұрын
Hey Jan, sorry for the trouble! If you're having issues with your display's backlight, please try the following steps: 1. Remove all power from your display. Including batteries and unplugging the power cord from both your wall and your display. 2. Press any button on the display at least 25 times and leave it sitting without power for at least two hours. 3. Power the display back up by plugging the power cord into your outlet first, then into your display. If your model uses AA or AAA batteries, be sure to install a new set of alkaline batteries, other battery types should be avoided. If this does not resolve the issue, please message our support staff directly here: bit.ly/contact_techsupport. Or alternatively, send us a private message on our Facebook: bit.ly/LaxTech_Facebook or Twitter: bit.ly/LaxTech__Twitter page for further assistance.

The stations referenced in this video do not require or use any Wi-Fi connection. More on this, as well as models that do use Wi-Fi to receive Internet data, can be found on our website here: www.lacrossetechnology.com/pages/weather-stations
