2nd the huskys. I’ve been in several other people’s vehicles with WTs, and they offer too little friction. The huskys are softer, remain flexible, don’t get plasticy and curl. I have them in 2 current vehicles for the past 5 years, front and back, one with the contour fit or whatever, and one with the regular huskys. No complaints on either set. Some of the comparison “tests” on this video are ridiculous. How difficult is it to pull the label off? Not on my list of concerns. The huskys are nice and stay in place even if you don’t have a floor hook. The WTs feel like work truck floor liners.
@piezoman794 жыл бұрын
David Sanchez the contours are more plush/softer/flexible feeling than the standard huskys, and would highly recommend them if they’re available for your vehicle. But the regular huskys are still very nice and have really aggressive “spikes” to grip the carpet and stay in place very well, and still offer good friction for your feet. Both clean up easily with some simple green or similar all purpose cleaner to remove the winter salt. Not sure what the price difference between them is these days but if you can swing the extra few bucks and they’re available for your application, the contours are definitely top of the line, as far as rubber floor mats goes anyway 🍻

I just bought my wife WT floor liners for her Acura RDX for Xmas. They are not only cheap plastic, the edges curl up wards, so water, salt can get into the carpet. My next move is to try and use a heat gun to bend the edges down. the whole thing was a waste of time and money. I have a 4 year old set of WT mats in my truck, and they used to be thick rubber that fit correctly. They are making them now with inferior materials, and sloppy cutting.

Guy sounded biased against Husky Liners from the start. I've used Husky liners in 5 vehicles without issue since early 2000. Never wore thru and protected my carpet. I just bought a set of WT and they no longer have the cheesy logo on them. This will be my 2 nd set as I purchased a new truck. The one thing I have to say is the WT fit perfect. It looks like WT upgraded their floor liners from the 1st set I bought. I had the WT in my first truck for 11 years with no problems. The only down size to WT is it does feel more like a work truck due to the harder plastic they use. Husky uses more of a rubber that cuts down on the noise. It’s totally up to the consumer but I give WT a slight advantage for the tight fit of the floor mats.

I have WT in two of my vehicles. In the Jeep they are ok but I bought them for our Volvo and the fit was terrible. When I called WT customer service they were awful. Basically told me they would not do anything to help and was told not to bother sending photos. Hope this was an isolated case but I will think twice before buying WT again. Maybe they have gotten to big of a company.

When you said the Husky had a more rubbery feel, that convinced me. I hate the plasticky / slippery feel of Weathertechs.

And slippage... Love my husky liners as I don't have to worry about my foot skipping when I'm driving or entering the vehicle. They also stay put pretty damn well so any elderly person won't have an issue with possibly slipping entering or exiting. Pretty nice

Are you sure it is brake cleaner and not brake fluid? We used to use brake fluid to shine our tires up way back in the day. JB weld will fix the emblem problem too.

Wouldn't using the Husky Weather beater be a better comparison?
@chronic79496 жыл бұрын
That is what I thought...this is a little misleading because it is not an Apples and Apples comparison. I personally have the Weather Beaters in all my cars and love them.

Just out of curiosity could anchors be added to that jeep? I once had a Honda Element that did not come with a carpet or any type of floor mat but they could be optioned. And there is an anchor installation kit forthe Honda Element for adding floor mats.

We have husky in the front of our Chevrolet Suburban and weather tech in the back, weather tech covers more area, they have more options, and they get WAY more abuse than the huskies and they look brand new after a wash, husky also needs more force to remove dirt from them

I've used Weather Techs on several vehicles and liked them until I got a set for my last truck a 2012 Ram 1500 Quad cab. When I took them out of the box I noticed them to be out of shape. When I installed them they did not sit flat like they were suppose to. They curled up on several edges. I took pictures and sent it to Weather Tech. They replaced the rear liner because it looked the worst. However the new ones were not much better. They too were somewhat curled. I think the problem is in how the package them up and ship them. For my 2019 Ram 1500 Quad cab I went with the Husky's. A night and day difference in fit and trim. They fit like a glove.And they were better packaged. The price was better also. Won't go back to Weather Tech.

Owned WeatherTech for years... and was lamenting high price... well worth it. My only recommendation would be to add objective measurements to tests... how much force on the screwdriver... how much effort in lbs went in the tearing... how subjective is the application of force? assuming it was impartial, there's no competition.

Just ordered a set of huskys. ive had weather tech in my other vehicles and they look like they will fix most the issues i see with weathertech... mainly very slippery when wet, liner tends to move around when getting in and out, and the edges always curl over time causing dirt to just get under them.

I will never spend my money on Weather Tech again! Bought a complete set for my 2015 GMC Denali, and the passenger side front kept folding over after time. Contacted them and they told me to use a hair dryer and form it back. Well geniuses, it always folds back over when it gets hot in the truck! They never offered my money back or to replace the mat, so they will not get my hard earned money ever again!! Just got a 2020 Chevy 2500 High Country D-Max and guess which floor liners are going in? Yup, Husky!!

I have the WeatherTech, easy to clean, dries very fast, I don’t ever think about them. Easy to wipe down without removing them too.
@tylerehrig67224 жыл бұрын
Why did you guys choose the rubber huskys and not the plastic types?
@MattN036 жыл бұрын
With carpet, you won't hear the WeatherTech beating against the floor pan. I have WeatherTech's in my truck and Husky's in my car. They're both very good products and you can't really go wrong with either. I do like how the Husky's cover the carpet hook as I've gotten some mud stains around the carpet hook opening on the WeatherTech's.

I suppose recognizing the scope of the function of a floor liner would be a good starting point. Maybe manage some expectations. What is feasible, acceptable, or suitable? Defining what they were never intended to provide is also useful, but only if is presented within context. The only primary function of any floor liner is to protect what is underneath the liner.

i have weather tech currently but think i am going to try husky next time. Weathertech mats are very hard, which is good for durable, but not so good for removing the matts or feel. I think a softer material would be more attractive. Is what i would like to see is a company put carpet in the middle of these mats like the Ram Limiteds have. Then we get a more luxury mat with ultimate protection

I just ordered the husky because I’m tired of the weathertech warping at the edges.

Well I've had weathertech and it never fit the pocket right even in the hot sun . and that slick shiny look doesn't last long and after a year or so the corners start to roll in and the little pop sockets that lock it to floor brake easily.

Great review bro. I think I’ll get the Husky for the driver side ( more comfortable and grippy on carpet ), an the Weathertech for the passenger side. Wifey has enough grip.
@Patrick-nw9bt4 жыл бұрын
I look at slipping. The husky has grip and the weather tech dont. So would either be slippery?
@F150_King_Ranch6 жыл бұрын
Key point the husky will poke small holes on your carpet over time, happened to my buddy f150 that he leased, had to replace the carpet. Weather teck is andamage free product

i have weathertechs in my 18 mustang and husky liners top of the line mats in my 02 ram. The husky liners fit better, wash better, less slippery and don't smell when their new. Husky liners are night and day better. I like both of them but if your deciding between the two go husky.
@scottsmith7348 Жыл бұрын
Both are great products. I've had both. The Weather techs make it harder to remove dirt as you can brush them and they never look spotless.
@scooterfoust43614 жыл бұрын
Thank you. Thinking I'll go with Husky for my '07 Honda CR-V. The rubbery, non-slick surface seems like it would be more comfortable.

I prefer Husky liner xacts over weathertech's. I've owned both and I prefer the soft rubber and the way it feels/sounds. I also prefer the deeper grooves to keep my feet/pants from touching the water. Lastly I found all the weathertech's I've owned would fold in and not lay flat against the contours of the floor.
@mitchryan54684 жыл бұрын
Why would you want to remove it with liquid in it...its nearly impossible to spill anything on the drivers mat (I have one and the only liquid it gets is from my shoes in winter). I always wait for it to dry and just power wash it later

I have weathertech in my f250 for 9 years now and they are still fine except curling or warped.

And this is problematic if it curls over your accelerator. It'd try to get a free replacement through the warranty of it covers it

What about us up north, are they flexible, hard as a rock? Do they perform just as well?
@CJBroncoF1504 жыл бұрын
I have used both in the northern cold states and they both perform well the husky stays a bit more flexible then the weathertech

My dad had them in his JK before he got his gladiator The Huskies never seemed to have any problems although my mom has the weather techs in her range rover and those have been great as well you can’t go wrong with either they’re both a great product. As a lawn care and landscaper I feel like I prefer the weather techs that I just recently bought they just seem a bit sturdier. Jesus bless y’all.
@darryls80666 жыл бұрын
Owning both I can tell you that the Weathertechs are hard slippery plastic and the edges/corners curl up over time. Husky Exact Contour are more rubber like and do Not curl up and are a much BETTER floor liner. Husky makes a cheaper product called Husky WeatherBeater floor liners that are more comparable to the Weathertech liners it is a hard plastic type liner that curls up. I have some WeatherTechs in my Tahoe right now that are curled up junk, next good sale on Husky the weathertechs are getting trashed and replaced with a set of Husky ExactContours.
