Chuck, your instructional videos have been a god send in my journey to doing leatherwork. It cannot be overstated how your energy levels and excitement on the camera has encouraged me to do a lot of projects and techniques.

I have a LVAD and the bag is a cross body bag. It weighs about 14 pounds and is hard on my neck. This gives me some great ideas t make a different bag. Thank you.

Good overall design but I would have made the open pocket top piece a little larger at the opening so it pops open for no look retrieval.

Question: where would you place a D for keys, or do you think that the O ring will be ok, not to much wear to the strap? Thank you, will try one of these for work.

Wondering who named the shortie and wondering what they consider to be "average" in their experience...lol Ps instant fan. makes this project seem so much more manageable! Thank you so much. Following for sure. This may just be the most perfect video on the internet 😆

Cordialement

Hey Chuck! I was thinking about making this out of a veg tan leather? All the budget is allowing atm, was wondering if it would be suitable?
@WeaverLeatherSupply5 ай бұрын
Absolutely, that should work just fine!

I like the design but the pattern pieces do not work together as is. If you compare the shape of the pattern piece 2 with the zipper to what was created in the video it is not the same. Be aware before you start cutting your leather. Piece 2 will not fit as is.
@highland33rdward83 Жыл бұрын
Yes, I noticed the same thing. I went back and checked printed dimensions and measured to make sure printout was correct. It was all correct - pattern piece 2 is too large to fit on piece 1. Fortunately it is too large instead of too small - so at least I can cut down piece 2 to fit appropriately.

Nice project. I see you’re getting sewing time on the sewing machine.

So to sew leather a walking foot is required on a machine.

so no need to bevel and burnish the edges?
@plumhtv3891 Жыл бұрын
If you don't want to do it, it's ok : the bag will still work. But it will look less professional. Always do it 😊
@davidfrank3728 Жыл бұрын
@@plumhtv3891 just thinking for my own use. But what is the purpose for beveling and burning??
@plumhtv3891 Жыл бұрын
@david frank It's about aesthetic and edges are not "sharp" anymore so comfort too (especially if this edges goes into a crease, for example, it could hurt with time !^^)

It never dawned on me that I can just rip my tape…. I seriously thought it would just mess up and have been carefully cutting it with a razor. Not any more
