Weaving a Pinwheel

Pinwheels prove that many patterns rigid-heddle weavers think are off limits to them are possible with just a couple of pick-up sticks and a little bit of know-how. The results are addictive!

This is great, thank you! But I wonder why two more contrasting yarns we're not chosen? The two colors in this video are too similar to really see what's going on, but good thing I have a good imagination.

Live and learn! I wasn't really planning to do the video when we released the pattern. I used the yarn I had on hand. In hindsight a stronger contrast would have been a better choice. Thanks for stopping by!

If you are knitter, I think of this pattern like knitting lace. You have to pay attention to the first few rows/repeats to get the pattern down and then after that your hands can do the rest.

I am a new weaver and have purchased this pattern, and this video is very clear and helpful, but I am not clear on what is happening in the border?

You treat the selvedges as you normally would. If you have a pinwheel at the edge just be sure you always catch the selvedge and don't pull on the weft so that you get draw in. This is easier to do when you break the over/under interlacement of plain weave.
