The cops told a LIE by telling these teenagers that the other was snitching. So out of retaliation & a greater degree self-preservation, the defendants were made to tell a lie, again, perpetrated by law enforcement. It's interesting to note how carefully the lawyer is wording his statements. He's not really blaming anyone. That is how American history is taught. Very rarely is there anyone called out to blame... it's just that "something" happened and "some people" are to blame. It's almost like he's afraid to do it... I wonder if that's because he feels like he needs to have a good working relationship with law enforcement and knows how vindictive and vicious law enforcement can be in regard to any future dealings he may have with them. hmmm.....

I particularly blame the New York City Police Department for dropping the ball on this entire case.When evidence is sitting right under your nose of a particular suspect and you ignore it the blame falls on you.Maybe they got upset that this case interfered with their donut break but your job is to find the right culprit or culprits.That information is relayed to the district attorney who presents the case to the courts.
