Maximum Speed Test for KAWASAKI H2R: japan.webike.net/moto_news/roa...
Young Machine, Japanese motorcycle magazine, has tried maximum speed test for KAWASAKI NINJA H2R.
They prepared 2 machines, stock NINJA H2R and H2R tuned by TRICK STAR, specializes in manufacturing custom parts (ex. exhausts) and is attending the Japan Road Race Championship.
Finally, they made over 350km/h. At first, the 400km/h challenge sounded like a joke. But this test ride gave it a sense of reality...

Coming from experience of doing 205mph 325kmh I can say these guys have balls big enough to come in a dump truck. Honestly at 200 everything was a blur and I was just driving at a point that the two lines made on the road.

The Hayabusa did between 300 - 305 km/h (GPS) with 175 bhp (on paper), which was back in 2000 about 330-335 km/h on the speedometer (I know, cause I owned one back then and had a GPS). The Busa and the ZX12R (178 bhp on paper) were the only two bikes topping 300 km/h back in 2000. Assuming that the required power increases cubic (by the 3rd power) with the speed, and assuming that the wind drag is about the same as for the H2R, the maximum speed for the 310 bhp H2R should be in the range of: (310/175)^(1/3)*305 = approx. 370 km/h . For real (GPS) 400 km/h with the same aerodynamics and grip level you would need (400/305)^3*175 = 395 bhp .

The problem isn't just solved with more hp because the drag of the air gets way stronger the faster you get and also the tires are very important
@hanscastorp7
@hanscastorp7 2 жыл бұрын
@@Jay-82 Correct. As I said, the required power (hp) increases (roughly) cubicly with the speed. To travel twice as fast requires 2*2*2 = 8 times the power (the wind drag (a force counteracting the vehicle's velocity) increases quadratically with the velocity, so you need four times the force at twice the velocity, and since velocity times force equals power we end up needing 8 times the power). Regarding the tires, it is really the question if there is a tire to let a bike travel 400 kph, and if there is, how long would it last.

to everyone saying they needed a longer track, it can't just be the track, both H2Rs were hitting their rev limiters at their respective top speeds. They'd have to increase the length of the gears (especially final drive) while also boosting power/reducing weight to achieve 400 quickly on that track. A long track would also help though!

Bike has more than sufficient power, the gearing and wind drag are the only things stopping it from reaching 400km/h. More efficient aerodynamics are a must since the stock setup leaves much to be desired if you want to reach that speed. On the other hand, the bike also needs to look good and not like a rocket which is why it can't go 400km/h without heavy modifications, changing only the final gearing is not enough.

It's fast but to think that someone did that in early 2000s on 1 wheel with no front fairings just blows me away. On public roads as well let's just put it out there.

This is only a production race bike and your Hayabusa is a 1340cc engine compared to a Supercharged 1000cc engine. The horsepower you claimed on the Hayabusa was heavily modified using probably Nitros, Turbo Charged, after market exhaust system and many other modifications to get the Turbo to run properly. I have owned at least a dozen of the fastest bikes ever produced since 1990 so, I know what it takes to get that type of horsepower to a Hayabusa. I am quite positive with even more mods to the H2R, you could easily produce 500+.I am not dogging the Hayabusa neither as I am also a fan and owned three GSX-R's.

@@averygrimreaper6321 the H2R isn't a race bike as it doesn't comply with the rules but it looks cool though. The busa doesn't have nitros as it's a customs made bike built purely on motor. Built out of other bike parts and some are custom made by BIG CC (the same people who made a 1000hp busa recently). Hope this clears some confusion up. Both are pieces of art.

The most amazing thing about this was how steady the camera on the trick bike was at 350kph. What's the life expectancy of a chain at those speeds? Just food for thought. A moto gp bike is capable of around 330kph with about 80 fewer horse power and probably 80 fewer kgs. Still want one of these though. Years ago now (2006?) I saw the Ducati the GP guys use for the 2 up rides before the GPs without the fairings on. What's under there all looked like science fiction to me plus wiring going everywhere.

crazy fast bike, but am I crazy to say I'd much prefer a Ducati V4R or Speciale even if it's a few kph slower?
