Hello, I know this is an older video but it helped me a ton. Thanks for your time and hard work! Now lets see if I can do it without messing up!

@thebestnodought This took about 8-9 hours while filming it as well. I think it could have taken me 4-5 hours if I wasn't filming. Thanks.

@MikSane No It's not necessary to do check those afterwards. You could if you want, but not essential.

Hi, I was just wondering why you would use the average specified valve clearance?, surely if the valve clearance shrinks over time then it's best to go with the largest allowed gap, so as it shrinks you will get more use out of the engine before having to mess with shims and buckets again? That to me is the same as keeping your oil level exactly between Min and Max where as I prefer to keep it topped up to Max in case is has a sudden reason to use of lose oil or if I forget for a longer period, it just gives a bigger safety buffer wouldn't you say?

Less wear. If you use the greatest possible clearance there will be more wear..

Can you put loctite on the cam bracket bolts when reinstalling?

Can you confirm the markings for timing them. In the service manual, says set the crank to TDC 1&4, but the cams are rotated 180*. The grove on both cams where the sprocket mounts onto the actual cam, is on the bottom (in the service manual) yours is on top. I went by the service manual and it wouldnt fire up. As well as i think it bent a valve since now i cant turn it all the way over with a ratchet.

I can't seat the cams. Each time i pull the exhaust chain taught, seat the cams, but at a certain point the chain skips 1/2 a tooth. Ill try to take out the cams entirely and pull the chain to ensure there is no slack. Any pointers? All of my exhaust are 0.15mm and I reshimed already just can't seat the cams without the chain jumping a 1/2 tooth each time. Edit: One of the dowels wasn't seated flush

THANKS!!! PS, do you have to check compression / carbs after a valve adjustment?

Hi Wedginator. Great video ... many thanks! I've been trying to contact you about the Yamaha YZF600R stripdown video you put together (also a brill video). Your website quoted email address doesn't seem to be working. I've sent to emails to it at separate times and both were returned as undeliverable. I was really wanting to find out if you intend to put together a reassembly video (as mentioned in your video.
