I was so frustrated watching this series. Wednesday is so quick to jump into conclusions, impulsive and thinks highly of herself that she tends to underestimate things that oftentimes put her friends and herself in danger.

But Marilyn was and now someone else is controlling him. Remember the scene of Tyler literally chained and bleeding and Marylin preparing to inject him with that orchid plant's pheromones? That was after she started manipulating his mind by scenting her wrist with the orchid pheromones and brushing Tyler's wrist while he served her coffee (which is really disturbing by the way), using info she somehow had about his mother, who Tyler's father never wanted to tell him about, as an extra insurance measure. How much can he really be accounted for? There was also that talk Tyler's dad had with Gomez about Wednesday and Tyler falling in love. Tyler's dad said it's not a wonder that Wednesday is falling for Tyler, Tyler does, "get it from his mother." Pair that with the fact that Tyler's dad told Tyler he loved Tyler's mother more than Tyler would ever know, and Tyler's dad KNEW his future wife was a Hyde, but there was still something in her that he truly loved, leading him to marry her anyway

@@BrainPilot Maybe you could make a video discussion Tylers motives, I think it's more complex than he is just pure evil, after the Hydes released in him, I think it had changed him in some ways(like sometimes it's maybe actually the Hyde talking through him). Like in one of the last scene between Wednesday and him, before he leaves her at the police station, he suddenly changes and looks very sad, and at the same time a tear actually appear in his eyes when he looks at her, turn around and leaves (time stamp; when there is 42.47 left of the show).

@@mariane5564 From what I gather of the story of Jekyll and Hyde, Tyler is becoming more and more consumed by the Hyde he got from his mother, which is causing him to start to enjoy the screams of the victims he's being controlled to kill. Other than that, their relationship has been about as unhealthy as you can expect with Wednesday being Wednesday and her tastes. She would actually find it quite nice of you to say. She already went on a date with him and he actually made it terrifyingly enjoyable for her. She threw every reason for not being more than friends at him and he melted them all away, causing her to tentatively step forward and venture 2 kisses. Even why his dad wants him as far from Wednesday as possible and the fact that his dad married his mother knowing she was a Hyde makes their dynamic interesting. What drew his dad to his mother might be what drew Wednesday to Tyler. I can also see interesting scenarios like Wednesday managing to track down Tyler, having him locked up to keep him from going on another killing spree, taking his hand to try to see what he might be told to do next, & finding herself agreeing to come see him again despite her limited time to find answers and the Stalker watching her every step and able to bring out the Hyde at any time. The stakes are high when it comes to Tyler, which fits Wednesday quite well.

They are still very good.There is a fun episode were the childern starts going to school and a halloween episode with som bank robbers. I guess you have allready seen them but I recomend a rewatch.

That date in the crypt Tyler gave her with the lights, popcorn, movie projector, and "horror" movie turned the crypt, which had become a place of immense discomfort to Wednesday, into the perfect date for Wednesday! Every downside to being more than friends that she could think of, he gently melted away. The way her eyes got soft and milky and her voice wispy when she told Xavier she saw Tyler is the Hyde in a vision "when he kissed me" shows she still remembers the kiss they shared and is still affected by it. I even like the contrast of Tyler's soft curly chestnut hair in the same frame as Wednesday's firm black braids, they somehow go so well together

I want to see how Bianca and her mother and Tyler and his Hyde storylines progress. They are only started really. Xavier needs an actual storyline because he had no in the first season. I really hope he bacomes his own person not just the boy simping after Wednesday. Enid and Eugene grew up in the best way and became heroes. I feel like they will just be themselves in the next season.

As much as Xavier is a nice guy, I think some people keep forgetting that Tyler has been MANIPULATED this whole time. If it wasn't for the Hyde he got from his mother, he wouldn't have killed anybody and I really like the theme that Burton's best movies had, the real monsters are not the ones that look like monsters at ANY point. Tyler is both a normal human and a monster but that is a literal mannequin when he is put under hypnosis or he undergoes serious psychological stress. How much can he really be held accountable for? Remember what Tyler told Wednesday in the beginning? Something about him also wanting to get out of this crazy town. That was the first time or one of the first lines from him that made Wednesday fall in love with him. What has been attracting Wednesday to him? He shares her core values: he can't be bought (unless he is tortured, drugged, & forced into loyalty), he wants to get out of this crazy town, he feels like his Dad sees him as a disappointment, etc. Plus, he was able to give her a date she genuinely enjoyed. Even the music Danny Elfman picked when Tyler said something that attracted Wednesday and drew her closer to him showed longing, that beautiful little tune that lasted longer the more she fell in love with him and still plays in my head. They were just a few notes, but they struck well, and this simple but beautiful tune never plays in any of the scenes with Wednesday and Xavier. Marilyn was using Tyler to lure Wednesday, but it seems like Wednesday's stalker was using Tyler to lure Wednesday too because there's a photo from the Stalker of Tyler with Wednesday above the photo of Wednesday taking the phone gift from Xavier. The STALKER might've been responsible for the incident last year where Tyler attacked Xavier and was sent to "re-education", which is sounding more and more like a mental asylum to me. Tyler was also in a straight jacket when whoever is now controlling Tyler woke up the Hyde at the end of Season 1. Anyway, I'm really hoping that Wednesday can get rid of whoever is controlling Tyler and that Tyler and Wednesday can make up so we will be shown once again in a Tim Burton work that the monster being manipulated is a victim too and can be worthy of love. Think Edward Scissorhands who accidentally tore shirts and curtains but never meant to, only for Tyler, it's worse because he's being controlled and quite literally enslaved

@@_____40 I wonder about that. She has already "evolved" as she likes to say it. She can now check on an injured friend regularly and hug her bestie. She has been at odds with her mother, but is seeing how much life isn't a competition with her mother now, and she DID step forward and kissed Tyler. We have at least one more season and she has room to evolve more. Forgiveness for crimes done to her friends, even if they were done without being in control of one's own body would be a difficult but good lesson for her. She can't process gray areas very well and is quick to find someone guilty, like the therapist and Xavier. She said herself that Tyler was manipulated by Marilyn to even make it look like Xavier was the Hyde. I think Wednesday needs to deal with the heart side of that, not just the brain, if she's going to zero in on the mastermind, stop throwing victims in jail, and evolve more🤔

@@_____40 I would at least like to see them actually speak about how she feels betrayed. So far, she's tried to torture who's manipulating him out of him, that wasn't really her focusing on the betrayal she feels. How about Tyler's dad? She needs his help because he's the sheriff. It would be interesting to see what his response is to still marrying Tyler's mom even though he knew she was a Hyde, and not having Tyler killed even though he suspected his wife might've passed the Hyde down to his son. Obviously, his solution to his son possibly being a Hyde too was to send Tyler to "re-education" after the incident last year, not talk to Tyler about his mom who Tyler inherited the Hyde from, abandon him at home, track his son with a child tracking app, and try to keep Tyler away from Wednesday. Maybe Tyler's mom was manipulated too and that's why Hydes have been banned from Nevermore for a while (I think it was 30 years). The traveler who was studying Hydes was killed by one before he could learn more about them. Either way, she will have to work with Tyler's dad and there will HAVE to be some info exchange.

Tyler is such an interesting character. We learned that not much is known about Hydes, so there is still plenty to discover about him. After all, who is a better match to Wednesday if not a half monster half human who is more complaxed than anyone had thought? Now that all cards are up and the main (at least for now) situation is over, I'm interested to see how their relationship will go. I like Xevier, but I don't think him and Wednesday are a good match for a couple. He deserves better for a romantic partner, and she needs someone who accepts her darkness and can match hers (which is why I'm rooting for Tyler and his redemption and growth)

Yeah, but based on interviews with Jenna her idea of Wednesday never has a love interest. Tim Burton planned that Tyler and Xavier would be rivals, but Jenna probably talked him out of it since it is out of Wednesdays character. So it seems like this will be a rare show with no romantic partner. Plus some theories are already floating around that Tyler's loving charm was due to his order to get close to Wednesday to use her for Laural. And Xavier did have quite a few red flags with how he handled his emotions.

I find what’s funny is that Tyler’s actor, Hunter, is gay. I noticed how Tyler was acting in all of his scenes, he always had a kinda nervous voice, but I looked him up and found out he gay. I then came to the conclusion that Tyler’s actor had to force his voice to sound more straight, if you find any clips of Tyler’s actor outside of a set you can hear his real voice.

I'm kind of confused about Tyler cause he didn't mean to do any of this right because he was being mind controlled by Laurel? If this is not the case, I still think Tyler (or at least a part of him) could be innocent based on his name "Hyde" then Tyler might have split personality disorder. This made the most sense to me when he confessed to Wednesday because he looked every bit the bad guy but then seemed to melt back to a regretful, mournful expression before leaving Wednesday at the police station. If I'm right, the "good" Tyler might genuinely feel for Wednesday and is trapped in his own body by the "bad" Tyler.

That's an interesting theory and the recording of the psy comment about Tyler would be a good argument for your theory. Also, every time Tyler and Wednesday come across the sherif when they're hanging out together, Tyler always seems to try to protect her right away, like before he even have time to think about it, so it wouldn't really make sense to me if all of their relationship was a lie and like the date was so perfect, like that's the moment I started to ship them(I didn't wanted her to have any love interest before that moment even though I was fine with the boys having a crush on her)

I hope that Tyler gets another shot, Tyler was a really good character and super interesting, Wednesday was amazing I love her so much she was so amazing. I can’t explain how much I loved the show. The ending was basically a cliffhanger and i can’t wait for more of the show. Im hoping Tyler becomes good. Other then that the show was 10/10. Definitely re watching all of it Again.

I hope we see more of the Addams family as a whole in season 2. From the teaser at the end of the final episode, it seemed as the show was getting set up for the Addams family to be going on a family vacation? perhaps camping in the woods? Who knows. Regardless, I really hope we see more of Lurch in the next season. He was a staple character in the original show, and I would really like to see more of him. We only got to see him three times in the first season, once in episode 1, once in episode 3 (I think), and once in the final episode were we finally get a close up of his face. I wonder if it means he will be more involved.

I really do hope that Tyler and Wednesday talk and fix their relationship. Cause I adored the times they were together. Tyler didn't want to he the bad guy that he was made to be. I do think he will heavily regret everything once he fully free. Since it seems like he still being controlled. Than him and Wednesday can talk things out about everything and finally be a thing. I don't want Xaiver and Wednesday to get together. I don't think they would be good together. I can see them as friends and that's it.

During the first few episodes, I guessed that Tyler would be the monster, it felt like Xavier was too out of place for that role, it just felt like Tyler was a bit off, and during the episode where they went to the old house, Tyler was hurt, but we had never seen him get cut, just his scream, from there on, I pretty much confirmed it in my mind that Tyler was the monster, and then it finally got confirmed. Although I never thought Ms Thorn-hill would be the person behind it all.

Weems said at the beginning of the RaveN dance to Miss Thornhill that the boy she wanted to go to that dance with asked another girl... Morticia Frump. And the boy was Gomez Addams. Could cause hard feelings. In an alternative universe Wednesday could have been Weems' child. This series was great. Wednesday grew as a person, yet still had her own ways. Unexpected plot twists. The hug at the end... couldn't have been more perfect. Can't wait for Season Two.

A very small detail in a scene between Wednesday and Marilyn that stood out to me was when Marilyn tried to give Wednesday the book Frankenstein by Mary Shelley. It's a huge clue. The storyline is a key theme throughout the series. 📖 For a teacher who is an expert at plants, it was strange that she wasn't gifting a book in her field of expertise. It's a subtle nod that Marilyn was heavily connected to the murders. The murderer was surgically removing body parts of its victims after they had died. Wednesday has an entire mood board trying to figure out why. We then see the missing body parts being stored in the Gates family home - used to resurrect Crackstone - similar to what Dr Frankenstein did. Morbid connection, but it is there. Marilyn/Laurel clearly inspired by Shelley. 📗 We also find out Marilyn needed Wednesday as her blood was key, so when Marilyn is being nice - she has a motive to building rapport with Wednesday and keeping her close. The Hyde was laying dormant in Tyler, until Marilyn started her experiments. The parallel with Frankenstein is that Marilyn is the Dr and Tyler/Hyde is the monster she created. Ironic how Tyler considered as a normie by the nevermore students ended up being a monster banned from it years ago. The first normie teacher the school ever had, turned out to be mastermind orchestrating an attack on its own students. Real monsters are often hidden in plain sight. I remember an entire debate in lit class of about who Shelley portrayed as the real monster. Dr Frankenstein for bringing the monster to life and failing to look after it properly; or, the monster ultimately beginning to behave in such a way independent of the Dr? In the last episode, Tyler explains that when the experiments began, he didn't understand what was happening or remember anything. If he was being charged for murder, it would be difficult to prove he had the mens rea element for the intention to kill the early victims and possibly not fully culpable at that point, but with time he has began to embody the monster and embrace the Hyde. Arguably, not so innocent anymore. Tyler's dad, Sheriff Galpin, refusing to talk about Tyler's mother is also a giveaway that he knows far more than he's letting on. He does not want Wednesday hanging out with his son because deep down he's afraid of Tyler finding out the truth that his mother was also a nevermore student? Maybe the Sheriff was somehow responsible for the death of Tyler's mother. Research on Hydes is limited because they are dangerous and unpredictable. We don't know at what age Tyler lost his mother, maybe the Sheriff had acted in self defence or whilst protecting Tyler. Sheriff Galpin also says the results of the claw DNA were inconclusive. What if he knew it was his son? In the forest, we see that the Sheriff has a tracking app and keeping tabs on Tyler. When he does apprehend the Hyde, he shoots to disarm and wound, not kill. Perhaps he was forced to do something similar in the past, but it didn't end well for Tyler's mother. In the very first episode, Rowan pins Wednesday to a tree and reveals he's going to kill her when the Hyde shows up. Tyler also helps Wednesday evade his father in the forest with using coffee grounds and then he himself even questions why the monster didn't harm or try to kill her. Tyler warns Wednesday against going to the old meeting house. Thing takes care of the bearded man, but the Hyde peers into the house, checking if she is okay? Again, in Dr Kinbott's office, Kinbott is wanting to put Wednesday in an asylum. Tyler overhears as he's in the WC during one of his sessions, turns into the Hyde and attacks Kinbott. The Hyde does not attack Wednesday even when there are ample opportunities on multiple occasions, this could be an indication that the real Tyler has a soft spot/feelings for Wednesday - perhaps even on a subconscious level that the Hyde does not want to attack Wednesday. When Tyler met Wednesday, he managed to exert some elements of subconscious control over the Hyde. In a weird way, Tyler/Hyde acts to protect Wednesday and ultimately, it's Marilyn/Laurel who cuts Wednesday's palm. 🔪 In the last closing sequence, Tyler transforms into the Hyde just as Wednesday's family car drives past. The contrast was interesting. Minor critique - Wednesday's character comes off as highly judgemental, especially of Xavier. Xavier seems to have an old crush on Wednesday from their childhood days. The cello painting was telling. She didn't really recognise Xavier, but he could vividly recall a childhood memory between them. Xavier also tries to help and warns that her visions are not reliable and triggered by emotion. Undertones of jealousy are also seen from Xavier, especially at the dance since Wednesday keeps choosing Tyler over him. Xavier also repeatedly warns her that Tyler is bad news, which she chooses to ignore so Xavier keeps going out of his way to look out for her. It's not entirely certain why Xavier has vivid dreams about the monster, perhaps his hatred towards Tyler is how his subconscious sees Tyler in his Hyde form. Towards the end, Wednesday and Xavier are on friendly terms, it'll be interesting to see how the two characters would move forward. And honestly, Thing stole the show. 👍 Hopefully they renew for season 2. 🎬 Edit: Didn't mean for this to turn into an essay. Just some long winded thoughts. Typing this comment made me realise that I low key miss writing lit essays. 🤣 Loved the Addams Family growing up and have been looking forward to this new direction by Tim Burton and watched all episodes over this weekend. Really liked how teen Wednesday shuns social media, appreciates classical music and uses older tech, preferring to use a type writer and has a vinyl record player. 🎻💿🎼 Stay spooky. 🕸️🕷️

I think Tyler didn’t hurt Wednesday because they didn’t have all the body parts yet to bring back crackstone. Also Tyler’s Hyde was being controlled by Marylin. I’m pretty sure she told him not to harm her until it was time. Tyler said he thought Wednesday was dead and she was like a roach. Tyler’s Mr. Jekyll side didn’t like Wednesday either

If I had to theorise, I’d imagine in season 2 we find out that Tyler can’t actually control himself and is unconscious of his behaviour as a Hyde, doing only what Laurel instructs him to do. Throughout the season he tries to find away to kill his Hyde self and become human forever so he can be with Wednesday (while he’s in jail). Little does he know, Wednesday and Xavier are sort of a thing, but when they have a huge fight because Xavier is insecure about her still having feelings for Tyler. Amidst this fight, Wednesday walks out and sees Tyler again in the forest, who’s escaped jail and explains that he’s now a complete ‘normie’. Wednesday has trust issues now because he lied to her in season 1, and tries to run away, but the newly introduced monster of season 2 (idk what they are yet) attacks her. Tyler protects her using a sharp tree branch and she again tries to run away after this. Tyler convinces her that she owes him her life and all he wants to do is talk to her, so she confides in him about Xavier and her’s fight. She has a flashback to all the times she’d trusted him and he’d been lying to her, gets scared and runs away. By the end of season 2, she and Tyler are on speaking terms and Wednesdavier has broken up. All the while there is a new monster terrorising people and a whole other mystery. Enid is faced with the prospect of moving to an all-wolves school as well because even though she wolfed out her parents want her to associate with her own kind, blaming the other outcasts for her late blooming. Bianca is losing herself as she watches Wednesday, her now friend, and Xavier date, and she slowly starts falling behind in her classes and fencing. We meet the new headmistress who doesn’t care about Nevermore at all, only putting all the students in further danger with the new monster. Idk this is just an idea I thought of after watching season 1. Pls don’t give me hate. 🖤🖤🖤

@Jewel Castle other things people seem to be purposely forgetting Wednesday had to be alive for the ritual to work; that is most likely why Tyler took out her attempted murder and restrained himself around her: his master could not allow her to die before the blood moon. Secondly even if he did restrain himself around her he attacked Eugene and Enid, and devoted himself to Thing's near murderer. The addams family's acceptance of killers stops when you try to take people they see as "theirs" away. Tyler crossed that line as early as episode 4.

I was so frustrated watching this series. Wednesday is so quick to jump into conclusions, impulsive and thinks highly of herself that she tends to underestimate things that oftentimes put her friends and herself in danger. Poor Dr. Kinbott was constantly accused of being the murderer by Wednesday even after her death. Despite the frustration, the series is really good.

Everyone missed the first episode hint of a bigger plot. On driving to Nevermore it switches to a hitch hiker and a woman truck driver, notice how her eyes bulge as he gets out and walks off. I believe she is also a Hyde and the bigger plot is somehow linked to hyde's.

When you look on paper about Tyler's mom, there is logo of some Willowhill psychiatric hospital and her diagnosis is beying hyde, so people from this hospital definitely know about different outcast species and they are specialised to catch them or something, I guess it's something like Arkham in Batman universe. Logo of this hospital is also on uniforms of those persons who are in car with Tyler at the end. I want to know more about that, it looks like it will be important for season 2.

An annual dance and sporting event. People who are beasts and creatures. People with special abilities like shape shifting. The main character is also the title. I really didn’t like what they did to poor Tyler. He like, really grew as a character and tried actively to win Wednesday over while Xavier just sat back and pouted like “oh well, so I guess you don’t like me!!” Tyler was systematically tortured, drugged and brainwashed and they just made him evil at the end. It would’ve been cool if they gave him a choice to follow through with Laurels plan, or gave him some sort of chance at redemption.

Unlike the people here not liking Tyler to be the Hyde, it made me so happy on the contrary. I hate cliche romances but I understand the build up they had as he will be a part of Wednesday's growth. Tho I do hope that's the last of it and not Xavier taking the role as "love interest". I'd prefer if it'd be Enid-- I meant they compliment each others a lot and will learn more from each other than with boys "caring & understanding Wednesday more than anyone else when no else does" like that is so cliche. Unlike Enid who had no interest on stuff Wednesday likes but tries even if Wednesday didn't asked for it because they're "friends" and she's trying to understand her "gradually" by learning from each other and not "forcing" themselves to like each other. On the contrary she makes Wednesday feel like she needs her so shell have no choice but to accept her. Enid just do hers and whatever she likes. Same goes as Wednesday does. They don't adjust for each other, they want each other to just accept whoever they are as is. They both grow unlike these men lying upfront with her telling flowery sht how they the only ones who "understand" her "quirks and weirdness". I'd rather want an authentic friendship where it starts from ground zero, ups and downs, coz that's how you learn from each other gradually, and acceptance rather than "wow I've never met a girl like you before, I like you, we should hang out"
