@emanymton713 The word snood comes from the Old English word 'snod', meaning a ribbon for the hair, and dates back to around 725AD. It was used to describe a cloth or netting used to cover the head, as well as items known today as hair bands.
@tamarasmith9060

"Snood" is a centuries old English word for a hair net (typically woven silk threads I think-there was no elastic at that time) that pinned in place or a tying ribbon thing used by women to hold their hair back in a loose bun style. So Enid crocheted a modern version of one that's combined with a scarf to hold in place.

When Dr. Kinbot said she was working with Eugene's moms, I did a double take. I'm not an industry expert, but I always though a therapist couldn't reveal who their patients are as part of confidentiality. Given that it's a small town and everyone can see who is entering/exiting her office, it'd be easy to know who her patients are, but to outright say it herself seemed like a big no-no. Now, if she'd said something like, "I came to offer my services to Eugene's parents in this time of need," then that's more acceptable because she hasn't entered any sort of contractual agreement for confidentiality yet, and it would explain her presence at the hospital.

therapists also aren't supposed to interact with their patients outside of the office. kinbot saw wednesday in town and talked to her.
@tamarasmith9060
@tamarasmith9060 Жыл бұрын
Kinbot does a few things good therapists aren't supposed to do, like reading Wednesday's books without getting her permission 1st & before she even met her in person. She basically admitted to Wednesday in their 1st session that she was judging Wednesday's relationship with her mom based on the fictional story. While someone's art or writing may show some of the issues on their mind, you do have to be careful to remember that they may start with that & then intentionally take the art elsewhere & so you should not think you know everything in someone's psyche based on just a bit of their art. While admittedly Wednesday put some of herself into the character the therapist immediately jumping into trying to pick apart her work would not be something Wednesday would like. It's possible being in a small town for so long where people can't help but cross paths outside of work has made Kinbot get too comfortable mixing personal & professional time. Like she wouldn't tell the sheriff outright what his son discussed in sessions but she also asked personal questions of Wednesday outside the store & at the hospital. A therapist should know that a patient, at least a relatively new one, would feel uncomfortable being randomly confronted while going about their day when they expect to only have prying done at set appointments. [I used to be a nanny for a psychiatrist & her husband, so a few times she mentioned things about how & when they have to draw a line between being a kind, interested professional trying to help you & getting personal with patients outside of therapy time.]

I’ve also been told that generally the therapist isn’t supposed to engage with a patient outside of the office unless the patient engages with them first, because the therapist doesn’t know who is there with the patient and how do you explain the interaction. A good therapist should ignore patients outside of the office and pretend they don’t know them. Might be hard in a small town, but then it just takes more discretion in keeping it the same external relationship they might have had before therapy.

22:41 there was a scene of the Sheriff before Wednesday walked in (in an earlier ep) where he was on the phone talking to someone about how somebody said the lights to the old Gates house were on. The Sheriff ignored it lol

i also think Wednesday is starting to like Tyler (and Xavier?) but i was getting kind of annoyed by both of them because she makes it very clear that any sort of relationship is very difficult and uncomfortable for her. i get that they like her so they'll try to do something about that but tbh she just seems overwhelmed and doesn't really know how to tell them :/

I feel like it's unfair to say that's not difficult for them especially they both are being shown to have their fair share of issues

@clara.lmg.s Жыл бұрын
@@RaNgErs_Rep oh no it's definitely difficult for them, i wasn't trying to deny that. i get both sides, just specifically the "you were giving me signs" thing always bothers me because even if i think someone is sending me signals, if i find out that i read the situation wrong i can be hurt and disappointed but i shouldn't put it on the other person. and i feel like they both know enough about her to know she's not purposely leading them on. then again they're fictional teenagers so i probably shouldn't think too much about it

abandoned buildings sometimes still do have electricity. Squatters and trespassers find the junction boxes and turn it back on. Sometimes town officials just forget to turn it off too. There is no need to suspend disbelief.

"What places do are you guys going into where the electricity is getting left on??" The elementary school in my hometown was closed down in 2003 and has been abandoned ever since. Electricity still works in the basement there to this day.

I have always wondered, if there ever were a limit to Wednesday’s (usually portrayed) Cold Demeanor, I really do appreciate that this Show does show that there is and that it’s pushing it, having Wednesday be forced to actually having to face her emotions, it’s such a delight to witness, I will look forward to see how it will further develop from here.

Power is barely ever fully switched off, that would require an actual electrician to do the work which would cost the town money. Most of the time the circuit breaker is just tripped, and to turn it back on just takes resetting the circuit breaker.

Snood = old timey hair net made of cloth or yarn. I wear them with Ren Faire outfits. They've been around for hundreds of years but the word has fallen out of fashion. I'm sure this show will make them trendy.

Yes I'm late to this party but Jenna is 5'1" and is a pretty small woman, but the choice to put her in platforms wasnt to make her taller it was purely for stylistic choices. Colleen Atwood, Tim Burtons longtime costume designer wanted Jenna to be in chunky shoes to accentuate her goth style, they also helped her with her deliberate gait and posture. Her sneakers are made by a British company called Naked Wolfe, and yes you can buy them, they run about $300. Her dress uniform stompers are from Prada and are $1200. Her Rav'n dance shoes are Valentino and are also $1200. I also believe shes seen in some platform Audrick Doc Martin's which run about $200.
