Really love your show. I'm a 61 year old - woman former racer (mostly college level in California) in the 80s. Started racing as Lemond was entering the European scene. I was so happy and proud when you all came on to the scene as there were virtually no Americans that could handle Europe...Andy Hampsten was the exception between Lemond and your generation. I worked at Amgen for 15 years...the company created the Tour of Amgen - then became Tour of California. Lance - there was a huge mural of you on the exterior of one of the Amgen buildings - it was stunning. I saw many stages of the race in those days. I look forward to the TDF every year with Phil Ligget and Bob Roll and now this Show!! Thank you for your amazing racing and entertainment - so impressive - those of us who know what it takes to race really appreciate your natural talent + plus the training and sacrifices you have had to make to race at your world class level. Thank you so much for everything you contribute to this amazing sport. From a fan of yours - all of you - forever!!

@shadowsun33
@shadowsun33 3 ай бұрын
Mhm, what an ath...dopper. As a junior he was below average, was getting dropped constantly (in words of a Dane who was w/ Jonas on local teams) but since Visma got him we got a champion. Wait, it gets better. Roglic a skier who turns into cycling champion under Visma, Wout becomes a sprinter who can climb, Laporte the EU champion, Jorgenson becoming a champ of his own. All under Visma not before. 😂😂😂 Wow, amazing athletes. Now let's look at Tadej. Sure, maybe he's on something illegal but even as a junior he was levels above his age group already. Last year rode w/ a wrist that was healing from fracture and nobody admired that. If anybody would even dare mention it they must have been making excuses for him even though riding with fractured healing wrist is much more difficult than the ribs and collar bone and you can heal punctured lung super fast if you don't go by traditional method. In a week or 2 you can breathe normal if you bypass the regular healing method. But try road vibrations and squeezing brakes 5hrs a day for 3 weeks straight and see how that hurts w a wrist that was nearly shattered (broken in multiple places w/ wrist already having an extremely complicated structure and function to begin with). It is amazing how ignorant this world had become. I often wonder how you guys made it this far. It's luck I guess because when $hit hits the fan 80% of you won't make it past the first week of it.

Great show as always. As for Lance's idea for high-tech TT bikes -- I say no, the TT should be mano a mano. It's Not About The Bike, as Lance knows. But Lance's idea would be great for the hour record. The crazier the invention the better for that. I think it would generate more public interest.

I wish you guys would have touched on Tadej’s time after wearing the Tour’s skin suit instead of his own after your discussion yesterday about how much his team-issued suit would help shave time. If I recall, wouldn’t his suit have saved him 1 sec. p/km? That means he would have won the stage right?

A time trial is supposed to be the "race of truth" that is the purest test of a rider's ability. It's not supposed to be a test of bicycle technology. Lance is wrong about making TTs more like F1, with more emphasis on the machine than on the man. I would argue the opposite... that specialized TT bikes should be done away with entirely. Riders should have to use the same bike in the TT that they use in every other stage, and also the same helmet. That would level the technological playing field for all teams and return the TT back to its roots as the "race of truth".

Watch the Lance 30 for 30. It will explain that EVERYONE else in the pro peleton was doping. If you didn't do it, you were done racing. Since the UCI either couldn't (or wouldn't) do anything about it, if you wanted to win, you literally had no other choice... From 1991 on EVERY Tour de France winner was using EPO (and pretty much every other top finisher). Most of them even confessed too, but the UCI (and WADA) singled out Lance and threw the book at him. The others were allowed to keep their palmares and one was even the longtime DS of a World Tour team. Google "Mr. Sixty" (Bjarne Riis) to see for youself.

You just proved your pig ignorance. All the top riders were doping with EPO long before Lance did. For many years it was part of the sport, and doping of some form has been a part of pro cycling since its earliest days. In Lance's era you either doped or you abandoned all chances of winning, and the UCI secretly condoned it. Lance played according to the accepted rules of the time, simple as that.
