THIS IS CRAZY, and A DREAM COME TRUE FOR ME. I cannot believe someone I follow so diligently and whole heartedly featured my picture at the end. This just boosted up my motivation to work and perfect the eye for finesse to be as good as you someday. All in all, your work is amazing and something we all idealize. You just made my day! Stay well and safe, Skyler! :) Amazing tutorial, as always, goes without saying :D

Rotating the light across the cap, very nice. I haven't played with that or slow-mo yet. You seriously make me want to do better work. Not there yet but this week getting an HDMI to HDMI micro for tethering on a budget. Very, very excited about that. Macro lens ... ah, that's the dream. Yes, the layers you did, brilliant. Thank you for the work you do. Cheers and boogie boogie, Ivy.

Have to say what a beautiful tutorial , I’m a fashion photographer but always appreciate the talent that goes into product/food photography. Beautifully done. I have a somewhat low level question though, lovely to see you using a Fuji XT3 for the video side of things, they’re a small box packed full of a lot of spec.... my question, why did you switch to a canon 5D for the stills instead of sticking with the Fujifilm XT3, especially as you wanted to match the look and colour? ;) Thanks again and you have another subscriber. :)
@SteveDroid4 жыл бұрын
I think it's a 5dsr judging from his other videos. So it's either a resolution thing or because he already has all the accessories to shoot with it (he shoots with a remote shutter and also shoots tethered).
@skylerburtphotos4 жыл бұрын
Yeah I prefer shooting with the 5Ds because I don't have the same focal length lenses in Fuji that completely match what I'm used to with my Canon. I also shoot tethered and I don't have that cable yet for my Fuji. And I'm making a video so I need one camera to film and one camera to shoot (probably the best answer as to why) If I wasn't making a video, then I technically could shoot with whatever camera I wanted.

That was very informative, thank you. Also nice to see a fellow Fuji shooter. Question though - what lens were you using on the Fuji for the video portion? It looked like a Canon but I really wasn't able to tell? I've struggled a bit with trying product video in terms of choosing the right focal length.
@skylerburtphotos4 жыл бұрын
thanks!! yeah they were canon lenses, the 100mm f2.8L lens to be exact. I'm using the Fringer EF-FX Pro adapter. You can find it in my description I believe in the WeEatTogether store link

I have a question, I love your final output, but I did wonder if the client commented on the darkness of the product name on the bottle's lower front. If they were to want it brighter, how would you address it? Thanks, Mark
@skylerburtphotos4 жыл бұрын
I don't think they had a problem, I didn't ask, but I think it would depend on the style you're going for and the companies brand guidelines. Or even up to the art director on set. If after the fact, they made a comment however, I would go into Adobe Premiere (the editing software I used here) and either raise the shadows locally or maybe even globally if that looked good.

is it safe for the batteries to keep the SLB60 running while its plugged in the charger? the guy that i bought the slb60 from told me it can damage the battery if i do that.. but im not sure of that as sometimes indoor shootings i want it to be ON without me thinking about the battery life, so should i just plug it in and keep it running if i could without worrying about the battery?
