Weebill Lab on Amazon: amzn.to/2FGzK8R
More of my personal opinions on the new Weebill. One thing I cut out from the video is that sometimes people might operate the gimbal with the axis lock on, especially on the tilt axis. I know couple of people who told me about it, and I have definitely done that. That does give you a horrible side to side jerky movement, and Zhiyun now has an updated firmware out that warns you on the OLED screen if you accidently leave one of the axis locks on.

I like your review! I find it entertaining and comfortable to watch 😄 Im still torn between Weebill Lab and Crane Plus. My setup is Sony a6300 with Sigma 30mm and Kit Lens. If I get the Crane Plus I can buy another lens since it only costs half the price of the Weebill. But Weebill is new and travel friendly, but Im still worried about the issues, mainly the jitter because the purpose of buying a gimbal is to lessen the time from post production by adding the warp stabilizer.
@SePark
@SePark 5 жыл бұрын
Thanks Jazzie! Much appreciate it! You're right. Cost is going to be a huge consideration too. If you're not traveling every week cramming a gimbal in your bookbag, sounds like Crane Plus is a better purchase for you especially if you need another lens. Your setup is light too so Weebill won't deliver anything more than the Crane Plus. (Sigma 30 mm weighs 265 g) This coming year, I plan on traveling to different cities filming with just one book bag so I'm staying with the Weebill. Otherwise I would have kept my Crane v2. 😁

Hi Se Park, Nice video again, thank you very much for the info. I am a photographer and trying to get into filming. I want to grab a gimble , the Lab is definitely a good choice, I find in only it sold for around 200 US dollars in Australia, or 350 for the Weebill Lab ( both Second hand), I wondered if the lab version will hold tamron 28-75 with a7 iii? or I need to go for the S version? The used Lab here is really cheap :)
@SePark
@SePark 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Steve! I hear ya! The Weebill Lab price is hard to ignore. The Tamron 28-75 with the A7 III will work on the Lab if you balance it at 28mm. I used that exact setup for multiple shoots all day for event filming. The problem is you won't be able to balance it at 75mm. I'm more of a wide-shot gimbal kind of a guy so that's not an issue for me. Weebill S of course can handle the 28-75 mm at 75mm much more easily. If you don't plan on buying heavier lenses for next two years, I say go with the Weebill Lab. I know people complain about the wobbles, but once you get used to it, and with some setting tweaks, you can get fantastic shots. If you are a long focal length gimbal kind of a guy, and if you plan on getting some heavier lenses, then Weebill S would be the way to go. Hope that helps a little. Thanks for watching. Your views makes a huge difference.

Hi!!! Thank you so much for that comment. It's funny someone just asked me a similar question on my most recent video here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rZiZhJ2OrNCVf8k I love my Weebill. I gotten used to which moves causes it to jerk and cause wobbles. Overall it gives me very smooth shots. That video I just uploaded to KZbin, I didn't do any post stabilization. It's slowed down 50%, but it's straight out of the camera and the Weebill. I'll try to make a gimbal tutorial video one day on how I like to balance my gimbal and how I walk to create those smooth shots. Thanks for watching!!

16-35mm f/2.8 GM was make me very frustrating for balance this gimbal. Crane3 would be better but I don't like the size, it's bulky. Then i contacted the Smallrig how to make it balance... Yes it should be adding a counterweight 200gr under the camera, a 200gr and a 100gr more at right side gimbal. It said worked well

Nice videos! You've got a good sense of humor and present the info well. I'm trying to decide on my first gimbal, kinda stuck between Weebill Lab or Crane 2. Weebill seems to have a lot of next level features, mainly the portability and the locks, but Crane 2 seems smoother. Since I'm not used to operating a gimbal, do you think Weebill or Crane 2 would be easier to manage? I have a Sony A7iii. Recently Crane 2 w/ follow focus was $500 on sale, while Weebill is $600...something to consider as well.
@SePark
@SePark 5 жыл бұрын
Richard Nash thanks! If smoothest footage is the most important to you, then I would get the Crane 2 in your case. If you need to put a gimbal in a book bag to travel, then you would sacrifice the smoother footage and get the Weebill. If you are familiar with Warp Stabilizer, then Weebill will work as slow motion and post production will get rid of minor shakes. If you have 500 grams or lighter lenses like the F2 28mm prime then Weebill is fine. Heavier lenses is not the ideal for Weebill if this is your first gimbal. I know I didn’t directly point you in one direction but so many things to consider. :)
@RichardNashIV
@RichardNashIV 5 жыл бұрын
@@SePark Damn, still a hard choice. I think ideally I would have both - the size and portability of the Weebill would probably benefit me the majority of the time as I would probably be throwing it into my backpack for day outings.... but occasionally I'll do some work that I'd prefer more stability. I wish there was an easier way to test this stuff in hand instead of scouring through youtube vids for footage :)
@markdjolly
@markdjolly 5 жыл бұрын
@@RichardNashIV I'm in the exact same boat... I think I'm veering towards the weebil lab. I think another factor is how much gimbal footage you intend to use with your videos. With our True Food TV work I wouldn't want to overuse it - I think that's when limitations of the gimbal might become more obvious.

Thanks for watching Andrew! I just had two more wedding shoots where I used the Weebill extensively. Something else to keep in mind ;)
@MASKalpha
@MASKalpha 5 жыл бұрын
@@SePark But doesnt the Moza Air 2 have an axis lock too for balancing ? Plus, the long battery life makes me think its more powerful than the Weebill, especially when adding a cage, matte box and follow focus. I'm in the same dillema... Do you know wich is the most compatible with Panasonic?
@SePark
@SePark 5 жыл бұрын
@@MASKalpha if you are adding a cage especially on a GH5 then you'll run out of space to properly balance it. Moza Air is much bigger and heavier than the Weebill. @@thomaspattison1631 that's so awesome! Thank you! For the Weebill S setting, I am actually using the default setting from the latest 1.97 firware since that firmware movement is on the soft side. The biggest thing for me usually is on the deadzone setting. If you find your gimbal jerking around side to side, you want to increase the deadzone setting so it's not too sensitive. Also the newest firmware, if you auto tune, you'll find that it virbrates when you tilt the gimbal down. For that issue, you will need to lower the tilt power manually down to about 25-30 depending on your rig's weight. Hope that helps, and thanks so much for your support on this channel!

This gimbal is not smooth enough. Great innovation, too bad it has major flaws, theoretically a great product

What motor power settings would you recommend on the crane v2 with a Sony A7III and a Ziess 24-70 f4?

Hi Roy, I don't have a Zeiss 24-70 F4 so I can't confirm for sure, but that's a 426 gram lens. It's probably going to push the crane v2 motors if you want to be super smooth. This is one of the reasons why I got the Weebill so I have some headroom. Even then Crane v2 is a great gimbal especially paired with some light lenses.
