Even when you are not expert, it is more than enough just to listen Putin. He explained everything. 1. When was started intensive attacks of Belgorod, he said, that "if you will not stop, we will be forced to attacked on that direction". 2. Six months later it happened. Goal - "to push forces away". Kharkiv - "currently there are no any specific plans". For last 25 years there are no examples when Putin did anything unpredictable about which he not warned for months/years before.

Are you sure about the manpower advantage? Ukraine is known to run a lot with SERIOUSLY under power units. It is very possible that the unit sizes are relatively close.

The 3:1 rule is the recommended force to attack defended positions. This is likely not relevant in current fighting as artillery and drones play a large role in reducing defenses(..and attackers).

Ofc they have tons of 5000 and 9000. It isn’t a question of the bombs but the delivery. The FABs are classic old carpet bombing explosives. They were not designed for precision strikes or any guided delivery. Right now they are modernized as glide bombs that can fly up to 80km to a precise location. So essentially like an ultra heavy rocket. Russia has the heaviest ones around right now - however the upgrade kit for the 5000 is only in the works in the future. The upgrade of 9000 is theoretically possible, but they are too big and heavy for the currently used aircrafts.

my theory: they are testing the AFU offensive capabilites; In summary they are making their troops learn how to repell counteroffensive with few front units. This will greatly help them to gain experience and make them have a more succesful operation on the summy front

Why? The whole expansion of the frontline was to divert the brigades to the north. If there is no room for fighting, Ukrainians will fall back to fortified positions. So for Russians it is much more logical to let them expend all their best equipped brigades on the idea that they could take a PR win. You need that carrot for effective FABs.

The current situation is kinda like Kherson while UAF is forced to attack with experienced soliders in a small area with significant firepower disadvantage. The difference now is they have more manpower thus Russian is unable to fully contain the situation. Maybe Ukrainian will be able to retake the lost territory but the cost is going to be extremely high. Russian do learn a lot from Bakhmut.

Ukraine is lack of ammunitions, they depend on NATO and US but they are not providing Ukraine with sufficient weapons to fight Russia .

Well this is how modern warfare looks like. When all your movements on the entire frontline is seen by all sides and there is artillery and drones everywhere. In such circumstances, only very small teams can make moves concerning new positions. And such small teams can only do this much at a time before the main force has to secure them.

Undermanned Ukrainian brigades, it's likely they would struggle to have that many there. You're right when you call them men, because a few days training does not make a soldier, which sadly is the case of far too many
