The next episode for the Advanced Phase (Phase 2) of training. This is where the craft and skillset of an Infantry soldier is formed. Week 13 is jam packed with section and platoon attacks. The whole week is spent in the field learning the basics behind offensive operations.

Thanks! Not command appointments as such. But they will have an understanding of each role within the platoon and of different types of operations.

Hiya djxrp, so i will be starting basic training on the 25th of October, my training has been good. Id just like to ask, what are the ideal 5km running times to be starting basic with and what are the not so good times. I did a 5k time of 26:46 but more recently i did it in 28:45 which im not happy about

I'm not sure about the army but aim for a sub 23 min i would say. For the Royal Marines you want a sub 20, so a sub 23 for army sounds about right. Don't take my word as gospel. Someone correct me if im wrong.

Thick woods is a good place to fight these guys since they will be loudly snapping twigs with their clown shoes as they move. You can then rain your attacks down on wherever the noise is coming from and hit their group. Stay out of throwing range so they can't throw a grenade back!

@@Wolfman0432 its no where near that heavy. It's about 10kg for the whole gear i would say, gun, mags, webbing e.c.t. Bergen won't be very heavy

@@tomstravels520 how little do you know? Once you stick in the radios, spare batteries, extra ammo. Check out the weights for when you do the infantry fitness test.

@@andydw69 just because you carry that in the main infantry test doesn’t mean you carry it all during an assault. The question was the weight of the BERGAN. Well first none of them are carrying bergans. Secondly the recruits are either carrying no daysacks or wearing the 17l assault daysacks which are purely for.......assaults. The standard one is 40L which is much bigger and for long patrols. I highly doubt the recruits are using Bowman and the PRR fits to the front of the body armour

No these recruits are on week 13 of training, personnel with the school of infantry badges are the instructors/section commanders leading there sections.They don’t have rocket pouches they went along time ago. Recruits are issued Vertus.

Same but I mean I still have a couple of years til I can join so I’m going to try and get fit every day and I’m joining army cadets and also doing scouts now which helps with medical survival and a little bit of rifle practice
