What nobody is talking about IMO with the Vikings qb situation is the insane pressure that would be put on JJM if they traded away Darnold. Every single mistake would draw, “they should have kept Darnold” from the whole world, which feels like a setup for failure.

Vikings QB situation seems like a no brainer: keep both Darnold and McCarthy, unless they get offered a premium trade package (like two 1sts, or a 1st + multiple Day 2 picks) for McCarthy. They're paying McCarthy backup money, so they can afford to give Darnold a high-AAV, high-guarantee, short term starter's deal. Even if Darnold provides quality starting QB production for two more years after this one (2025, 2026), you'll still have McCarthy under control for two seasons (2027/2028), age 24/25, ready to take over after having spent three years in development under McConnell.

Lamar won it last year when he didn't deserve it based on stats. This year I think he won't win it even though he does deserve it based on stats.
