This was difficult to follow and see. There was no closeup or pause to show where you’re starting and the color further complicates that. The video is hard to follow

You can see close ups on the pattern.

This is the first time I've been exposed to charts, or tried cabling, so I decided to watch the video all the way through before even attempting anything with the toes I've already crocheted up. The dull yarn color makes it really hard for me to see the details of where the stitches are going, and the project maker is going really quickly, at least for someone who's never done this before. I've done lots of other intermediate crochet projects, with a variety of more complex stitches, but this is hard to visualize and I didn't feel there was quite enough explanation of how to READ the chart. All in all, I have to admit I'm feeling very daunted by this. Is anyone else thinking of trying this with some scrap yarn you don't care about before going at it with your good sock yarn? Does anyone have a recommendation for a more detailed explainer video for chart reading? Thanks so much.

Check out Mikey’s tutorial on fpdc on a sc. He’s using larger gauge yarn and it’s easier to see. kzbin.info/www/bejne/g6TRpoSmqNVppbM

@@c1nbr4d Thank you! Yes, I'm familiar with FPDC and BPDC, it's more the placement of them within the cabling and parsing the chart that has me flummoxed, so I'll take a look! Appreciate the suggestions.

I’m comfortable with the pattern, but finding that my “medium” sock is coming out insanely large. My gauge swatch measured perfectly, so I can’t figure out why I seem to have ~15sts worth of extra space around my foot. I’m not super impressed with the pattern at the moment.

There’s no added stitches in the cabling section. You’ve probably checked your stitch count so it’s possible you are stitching the cabling stitches looser. ???

It would be really helpful if the creator would show us each completed cable row before completing the single crochets to end the round, my rows 7 and 9 are off a little! I’m going to have to frog back to right before row 7 and redo.

I slowed the speed down and it helped. The first backwards? treble is a bit fiddly but pulling the front two down a bit helped.

This was such a helpful tip!! Slowing it down to see it slower made it so much easier!

Brava! That is such a tongue twister and so clearly explained. I have hope that I can do this crochet cabling if I can get that first cable row done. It’s the arduous row but the others will be possible once I get that one done! Thank you!

This is not clear at all, you all of a sudden talk about posts two rows down?

Very hard to see with dark yarn. Even enlarging the video it is hard to follow.

So this sock pattern is kicking my butt😂😂 I’ve pulled it out several times now and it seems I’m going to be pulling it out again. I’m making the small size which before the cabling starts I should have 52 stitches which I do, however, now that I’ve been doing some rows of cabling my stitches for the row are at 56. Shouldn’t I still be at 52? How do I correct this issue? I am at a loss.

Yikes! I have done other projects with fpdc and fptc and crosses, but after frogging this three times I am giving up. The dark yarn and all of the bouncing around make it too hard to follow. And I am getting frustrated with the yarn splitting so often. Nice try but now it looks like I'm going to be donating this yarn and going to another project. Next time maybe when a project gets recorded you can pause and refer back to the diagram?

Before I get too far, the chain 2 does not count as a stitch, correct?

I had the same problem. I’ve restarted and retried it at least 3 times. Keep getting a significant lean to my cable section. Almost ready to give up! 😔

@@rebeccacudney4593 Not sure how we can solve it, but I'm hesitant to try again without a different approach. I've seen some other videos on how to prevent it so I might give that a shot..

I think I'm ditching this pattern.....the video does not help at all ! The color of the yarn is hard to see and she always has her hands in front of the stitches and it's not quite clear where the stitches are supposed to go. A little to fast, not enough explanation of where the stitches are supposed to go or look like and I'm left handed ;)
