Thanks for sharing my fellow Cancer Survivor Sister. I just had my 1st DIEP FLAP surgery on March 21st, and I'm very pleased so far with the outcome

I’m almost 6 weeks post surgery, and I cannot wait to NOT have to sleep on my back! I felt EVERYTHING you said about that! I just wish 4 weeks instead of 6 is what my doctor recommended.

I will be getting a bilateral mastectomy in about 2 months and idk which one I’m going to do yet. Idk if I have enough fat for the diep flap but we’ll see plus I want to go a little bigger maybe a C or something. I also have a 7 month old so idk how that’s gonna be with healing etc.. uhh. but thank you girl for this video!❤

I wanted to know how did you decide what size to put on you and what size did you do? I’m having trouble Because I was big chested and I don’t wanna be big chested anymore so I either wanna go c but I don’t know what size is that and how would it look? I hope to hear from you soon and I pray that you’re doing well and thank you for your videos. It really helps me a lot.

I have my surgery coming up in December. How were you 2months out and after?
@bymellowe5780 Жыл бұрын
Hey there. 2 months out I was feeling pretty good. Most, if not all of my restrictions were lifted at the 8 week mark. The only thing that felt a bit strange was sleeping on my stomach. I waited a little longer for that. Praying for a smooth surgery for you in December and quick healing in the New Year!

I'm at 18 days recovery mode. I was told I would be given exercises at my next appointment, can you tell me what kind of exercises I will be given? Will I be given approval to walk upright at that visit also? I am able to have some comfort sitting up a little bit, no longer feel the skin pulling at this point. I was given Ibuprofen for pain & SWELLING. I don't have pain anymore, do you know if I can take it DAILY for swelling? My stomach is very hard and very numb, NONE of the numbness has come down yet.

why didn't you choose implants? And how about the scar in your belly…
@bymellowe5780 Жыл бұрын
Hello. I decided against implants because there were quite a few women who mentioned being uncomfortable after implants. Also, I was concerned about having any foreign substance placed in my body after removing the cancer. It's different for each person, but those were my major concerns. Regarding the scar on my belly, it is very much there but I had it lowered in phase 2 of my surgery so it is mostly hidden under bikini bottoms and low rise undies. Hope that info helps!

There is a gel I used from Target called Advanced Scar Gel skin protectant on my scar after my mastectomy. It worked fantastic. It's main ingredient is Allantoin, which has healing properties.
