@@jerrywhite2390 Honestly I'm having a hard time finding anything that needs to be improved, perhaps the length of the video. I had a pleasure watching 1h of you flying across the US but perhaps other folks don't have the time. But in all honesty the video was interesting for the whole length so I don't see where you could cut some parts out, perhaps making two parts out of one long video is better for some, because then they'll stick around the video longer as it's not a full hour long or so. Content wise I don't really think that there's a ton to improve because as you mentioned in the end, your job consists of changes and irregularities which makes each video unique, you could however do some smaller videos in which you go over certain aspects of your job, for example do a full tour of the jet and take some time explaining how it works etc., I think that'd be interested for some folks that don't know how private jets (or planes in general) work or maybe (just maybe) try to get in contact with people such as Swayne Martin and maybe do comparisons of your work, the jets (I mean both Embraer) or something. This could really gain you a lot of traction as people are actually really interested in aviation, they just don't know much about it so making simple/10-15min videos sometimes may be received really well. Hope I could help a small bit, have a fantastic day and I'll be waiting for the next video for sure 😉

Being a pilot like yourself with all the extra responsibility and the stress of the job I know how taxing it is on the mind and the body. So hey man, do your best to take care of yourself, relax every chance you get and squeeze some fun in when you can. Take care Jerry. Still a student pilot training in Cessna 172 but I did make an impatient Delta hold short to cross RWY from when I was on short final all the way to when I executed my stop and go. Seemingly, he didn’t know what he was waiting for at night with no other planes in sight. He radioed in asking the tower for clearance twice before he told him about me being on short final. Sitting in my little 172, I sure got a bit of a superiority complex then.

But at the end of the day its all good. Like you said, very lucky to have a job in these times likewise. Good content on the vids and definitely will be on the look out for more. I noticed you say “The whole nine yards” occasionally. Here’s the origin. The whole nine yards: The bullets for the machine guns used in American combat planes of WW2 and since were in chains twenty-seven feet in length. Thus if a pilot was able to fire all his bullets off at one target he was said to have given his adversary 'the full nine yards'.

I LOVED this video - especially shooting your approach into PTK! I learned how to fly at Oakland-Pontiac Airport (now Oakland Country Airport) in the mid-70s when I was 17 years old. Holy Moly, how many times did I take off from 27L-9R and practice touch and goes? Yeesh! Man, oh man, I recognized that approach and the field immediately - it brought back so many memories! You guys took it a LOT further then I did - college, family, kids, moving out to San Diego, life in general kind of got in the way of me pursuing flying too much further but I still maintain my interest in it. Great job guys!!!!

Hey thanks for taking the time to post Phil. That is still really cool that you learned to fly! We were just in SAN again the other day.

@@jerrywhite2390 Well I admire you for carrying it a LOT farther than I did! I always thought it would be an incredible experience getting an instrument rating and flying jet aircraft - never got around to it. Oh well - I think wifey would have a conniption fit if I took it up again with all the controlled airspace we have around here, and all the mountains we have to the east. Did u fly into Montgomery, Gillespie, Palomar or elsewhere? Would love to meet u guys and see the equipment you fly the next time you come into town!

I love when a crew likes either and jokes around but really bunkers down and gets serious when the situation calls for it. Awesome video.

yeah, try to have fun when we can - obviously we are all highly-trained folks (front crew and back crew) and when the poop hits the fan, we go into super pro mode.

it is very, very, very, very challenging to have both. We have a very strong bond BEFORE I had this type of schedule, but have been on the road with other pilot gigs for several years. So we just learn how to make it work. But the wife and kids do suffer because of it. It's the part of the job that I HATE HATE HATE!!!

Jerry White Now that I am 60 I still wish I was flying like this. I have a great job, mostly regular hours but I miss flying. My job nearly 20 years ago had me riding in the back so often the MCO-DCA shuttle crew thought I was crew! I would love to do what you are doing.

Just came across this. Finally glad to see a “real” video of life on the road as a 135 pilot. I’ve worked (currently unemployed thanks to COVID) 135 and fractional for 17 years (that can’t be right) and people don’t realize how draining and exhausting it can be. I had one job where every day was 12+ hours and 3-6 legs most days. I recognized all too well the look on your face when you were driving home at the end of your tour. 😬 That life is not for the faint hearted. Great video and looked like a fun crew!
@jerrywhite23903 жыл бұрын
Brian - Man that is a grind to do the 12+ hours for most days - we've been doing those a lot lately which is one reason I haven't posted lately. I feel ya dude!!!!! Yeah, not as "glamourous" as most people think!

Couple comments. I love the challenge response checklist. An observation is that I assume that during the hiring process/interviews that personality traits are also heavily taken into account along with flying experience. I have flown with extremely professional pilots who had personalities that would make it misery to spend 10 days with. You guys have the perfect balance of humor/lack of ego issues/professionalism/adaptability/cool, calm demeanor/ and the utmost professional approach to your job that makes for a great team. You blend together so well!
@jerrywhite23904 жыл бұрын
Hey thanks for the commit - yes we do a pretty intense personality profile (although we do that now, and did not do this when we were all hired). One thing is we truly all "try" to get along - and work hard, and play hard and laugh things off when we can. if don don't have that mindset at least you will not make it in this industry.
