This is a week of my life as a student who likes to draw manga so follow my journey as someone who wants to become a professional mangaka while being in university! In this vlog about manga making , I share the first week of making a new manga for the next silent manga audition! I discoverd my passion for drawing through anime and manga (e.g. Bakuman) btw!

This is so relatable, I’m also in Uni and I’m making manga as well, just finished my one shot, am now working on the cover :’) This video motivated me to keep going and remind me that I’m not alone in the insane workload required for this type of career hahaha

The thing you said about your parents not approving of you making manga for a living is so damn relatable since my mom was the same! I did try to and was forced to study something else for a plan B but it didn't work so I study art in college and make manga!

Hey, I just got your video in my recommended section, and it got me thinking a lot! I am no beginner artist by any means, but my issue was always waiting for the perfect time to start project such as a one shot manga. Currently in Uni for computer science which is quite exhausting but this video gave me motivation like no other! Honestly, I can relate to the manga and college story too. I want to become a full time author but my mom said it takes a lot of luck to get readers to read my books. So I’m in college for a dental hygienist program while I’m writing books. So far, I published my first book called One Helluva Friday under my pen name JournalismCat. As of right now I’m still in college while writing my first sports book series called the swim warriors. Every time I watch your videos, it makes me feel like I need to continue both careers instead of one.

@@gakuseimuto yeah actually im preparing my trip to Japan and getting ready with my one shot for my interview at the Shonen jump which pretty scary I heard many things and I don’t expect much of it but I wanna start giving a try im a nerd lol actually introvert and I mostly think people won’t like my manga I don’t show much of my work to none family don’t know much they think im playing around lol but somehow im pushing myself to try your videos are really nice and helps me to keep going and nice to know im not alone lol 😂 sure I will try to enjoy discord n see more of your work super nice tho !!

the value of your stories will come from your life experiences. One great poet (Branko Miljkovic) said: "No satisfied and happy man can be a poet." the same can be said for a mangaka. It is not something that can bring you a lot of money (unless you get accepted by an animation studio and make a blockbuster), it is something that is the part of you, something that gives you purpose, and helps you overcome life obstacles.

as a fellow german uni student trying to draw my first manga i get the being exhausted so much. Wake up at 5 something for work or uni, 1h train ride, uni, home, bed. Manipulating yourself into spending 2-4h drawing a day is hard. I don't plan on making manga professionally but I really want to do it as it's what I wanted to do since I was in 4th grade

Thank you, really appreciate it. For the tablet I personally use a cheap Wacom tablet that works perfectly. Just go to their website and find something small and cheap

That's why u should do the script first and then storyboard and then started drawing. I talk about it in the manga Masterclass and I also talk about procrastinating, u can check it out

Wow very wow this video is very helpful and motivating for me , even one day I'm planning on being my own full-time artist my own self, right now I'm a current Job corps student and most of the money I saved up from there and my gift certificates I'm planning using them all for my art supplies, and now I'm still thinking about getting KZbin supplies for one day if I may be doing KZbin and tik Tok again and trust me most of the money I saved up is going for my new iPad, laptop, more drawing tablets and new 4k camera and microphone and more will it be worth it spending my 1K dollars for them equipments?! F*** yes!! Trust me I am so dedicated on my art in business I want to create for my art that I don't even care what gets in my way even though I feel like I'm getting old I'm not that old for it, now for Job corps in case my art company or art to self fails at least I have a secondary plan to do like doing construction maybe in fact i may do both hey more money the better and I still got to save more money for my own apartment and car one day trust me life is a piece of sheeshh but in the end if I get where I'm going I have no single regrets
