I ran a 10km race last year in Vancouver, BC (SunRun) - my time was 1.09.24… hoping to get under an hour this year. The run is April 21 so it’s getting closer. Your videos are helpful! Thanks for posting.

I've gotten back into running and valuing every single video you've put out because I've been watching them all. Even though I'm not doing a half marathon (I want to get into a bit of a flow after not running for 2+ years), I'm loving following you on your journey!! Personally I'd love a video on all the equipment you use for running (gear, clothing etc.). You may have already done one and if so, I'd love a link. I'm trying to suss out what would be valuable to invest in, quality brands etc. I know you've already spoken about the electrolytes and some other eating tips which have been 👌

@@abbypollock I want to start running and am finding it hard to get started because I don’t know how to go about these things.. including what I should wear too especially on a cold day. It overwhelms me and I never go and do it

@@Eplovesjesusjust take a thin sweatshirt and shorts . I started running last summer but here in Chicago it gets extremely cold . So I just got a thin sweatshirt and a thin vest and shorts and it works for me at 20-40 degrees . When you run you get hot fast :)

I am writing this at the start of the video, so if this comes out in it I apologize. Do you train with someone? For me, I find it so hard to stay motivated by myself. It seems so much easier to accomplish goals like this if I do it with someone or am accountable to someone else in some way. Do you have any advice how to overcome this?

I wish I had a running training partner 🥲 I’m hoping to find (or start) a run group sometime soon, but I’ve been mostly solo up until now. To be honest, it’s really hard. It gets boring, it gets lonely…sometimes I worry about safety running solo. This is a great topic for a future vid!

I have a goal of running a half marathon in a year from now, I’m about 100ish lbs overweight although about 50/60 lbs away from my bodies “happy weight” as someone who is training right now do you think a year is enough time to go from not much movement to half marathon? Any suggestions?

I've lost 100lb and am currently training for a half marathon! It's hard and required to completely change my relationship with food, movement and my body in general but it's possible! It took me 8 months to lose 60lb with a calorie deficit and 10k steps every day. It's important to not rush your body or weight loss.

Absolutely possible. Agreed with the comment above though 💛 take your time and listen to your body. Running is a GREAT hobby to keep you moving but it is also taxing which can be tough when combined with a calorie deficit. Take your time. Trust the process. And make sure you enjoy yourself along the way.
