It's really hard to watch. Virtua fighter is one of most balanced games I've seen, yet these players are only using h and low and spacing advantages. It's missing the mid and throw game as well as the crazy mobility available in virtua fighter. I'd say max is a solid 2 dan.

flashkick is -26 on block! any opponent can make a sandwhich and then come back for a combo punish

@DaveNeko Saw it. It takes more than 20 minutes going through a movelist to do well against decent players. You gotta spend time in the lab learning the ins and outs of your character learning several bnbs, learning whats safe and unsafe, etc. You cant spend 20 minutes in the lab and immediately go online and expect to be good. Which is why max is only picking low ranked terrible players to fight against and feels like he did something when he wins.

dunno if you mean the sound is off but heard as its a dlc game they had to sacrifice the sound quality a bit to bring the file size down dunno if thats right though

Max, up+p does a ground attack for opponents that don't tech roll.

yeah partly that, but I think it's also because, as a beginner, the game feels kinda slow since you dont know all that many good combos, but if you just take a bit of time its an amazing game

That somersault kick of Jacky does a lot of damage but it can be punished pretty badly. When fighting Lei-Fei I'd actually side step instead of block something about his frame advantage I believe.

As far as animations and looks go into a fighting game I have to agree that Virtua Fighter is one of the best looking. The only other franchise I would say rivals it is the Dead or Alive series (DOA) but they're both beautiful games that for some reason always look and feel stunningly good.

No it isn't. all you need is a jab, an elbow, and a low and high crushing move. Usually a knockdown low or a flying launcher.

big fan of this week found this very entertaining to watch as two really skilled opponents against each other the matches just come across as really good....thats where i felt that soul calibur 5 and sxt was a let down as i thought the matches were a bit dull

It's very expensive if you miss with it. It does a lot of damage because it's really risky. Block it, launch 'em for free, and take a good half of their life off for trying it. If you feel it coming, just jab and it'll hit them out of it; it isn't invincible at any point during its animation.

Virtua Fighter feels better than any other fighter I've played, because the moves feel like they have impact. Other games when you do a move it's more like, the animation is running and the opponent just happens to be colliding with it (not that other games aren't good, they just don't do sound and visuals as well)

Hey Max, don't go for grabs as counters. Grabs are pretty weak in VF5, because holding punch + grab auto-techs grabs and all attacks completely beat out any grabs (just like in older VF games).

I can tell how good someone is by using this method: Get a calculator and multiply the number of games someone has by 4 then subtract it with the number a points they have, the lower that result of the number is the better the person might be. If you and they have the same number of games but if they have more points then they are the better player. Also want to ask: if Max is playing on the Xbox version then why do I hear VF4Evo music? I don't see evo music on PS3 version.

You're not the only one who thinks VF deserves more rep than it gets. I'm guessing the sheer amount ot technicality it takes in order to play this game is what pushes people away from it, kinda like how KOF wasn't really popular in the states before XIII. If only people were willing to put more time into learning this game, then they would see how truly fun Virtua fighter can be, and there could be a bigger community to interact with.
