I think the leaders who forced us to look in the mirror immediately after 1994 were alive to the moment. We still have many issues but I'm enjoying seeing SA from somebody's view. It makes my soul smile and it's what everybody needs.

Great post because some of reasons you brought up are reasons for me to expat to SA, but not as black person but as a white retiree who has always worked and lived in integrated environments. Black friends won't address racial inequality and in some cases don't believe it exists bec never were descriminated against. they thinkj. .I have white friends asking why SA bec all black! II hope SA is as advertised, diverse, equal and inclusive. You seem to be witness to that.

Hi Barbara! Thanks for watching. I will say if you are familiar with a diverse environment you will love SA. We of course speak for our experience. There has not been one place Rich and I have gone that we have been treated poorly. The kindness and welcoming of the people in South Africa is truly unmatched.

The first sitting of the National Assembly must occur no more than 14 days after election results are declared, and the Chief Justice of the Republic, Raymond Zondo, will determine and gazette the date for this sitting. Before members of the National Assembly perform their functions in the Assembly, they must swear or affirm faithfulness to the Republic and obedience of the Constitution, under Schedule 2 to the Constitution. After the swearing in of members, the Chief Justice presides over the election of the Speaker of the National Assembly, who must, in turn, preside over the election of the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly. The President of the Republic is the last to be elected by the House because the Assembly must be duly constituted first to exercise its power to elect the President. The Chief Justice presides over the election of the President.
