So much appreciation to Marcello for bringing back the essence of what made this show famous...selling the character! He makes you actually laugh..not using cue cards as a total crutch...proud of this young dude...hope they don't sabotage him with next to no skits or horrible ones. I really believe some of the cast would quit if they had to actually memorize their lines and focus on nailing the jokes. They get a pretty nice check, I think taking the time to master lines isn't too much to ask, so we don't have to watch them read and stumble over words and the audience laughing because they know they're supposed to.

As far as transition years go, this one isn't that bad. I mean, yeah, you will have people lamenting over Kate McKinnon not being here or the recent loss of Cecily Strong, but they still have Kenan Thompson, Weekend Update is still solid, they kept James Austin Johnson and Sarah Squirm (still kind of wish Aristotle Athari would have stayed, but I'm sure he'll find a proper vehicle for his comedy), the cast members like Chloe Fineman, Heidi Gardner, Ego Nwodim, Andrew Dismukes, and Punkie Johnson are finally getting some screentime, and the new cast members (Marcello, Molly, Michael, and Devon) have potential.
