Well remember when man intrudes on nature... it's nature's fault! Let's kill those sharks and bears as well whose home we intrude on! Even among human populations what complaints did we keep getting from colonial empires? That the natives were being too aggressive and protective of their land...

Well, SNL didn't have any Chinese-American cast members up until Bowen Yang. They had Rob Schneider, who's part-Filipino, they had Fred Armisen, who's a quarter Korean (though he did think he was Japanese), and they used Akira Yoshimura, who is one of their stagehands who actually is Japanese. Bowen Yang, much like Eddie Murphy, is the first East Asian cast member to be popular.

Remember when everytime someone f*cked up in their life they had to go on Oprah to redeem their self-worth because as we all know... Oprah either forgave you and you got your career back or if she gave you that "You is lyin' b*tch" look, then your life was over. Almost every week Hollywood managers, fast food bosses, zoo keepers and disgruntled hair dressers would beg for Oprah's approval. It was a hot mess.

One of the reasons I love this skit so much is that the premise was so absurd and likely would have failed if they had used someone else. This was MADE for Bowen and he knocked it out of the damn park. SNL has its fair share of conceptually random absurdity sketches that, 85% of the time, end in a lot of scratched heads and "ehhh..."s. But god, when those types of skits are executed and acted flawlessly like this -- when the cast member(s) just go all-in, balls-to-the-wall, batshit crazy committed to the bit -- they are PERFECTION. That 15% of the time that they do work is nothing short of magical and this was the cream of the crop, I'm so glad I got to witness this iconic moment of SNL history

i mean the iceberg as a completely valid point, it was white star line's fault for not providing adequate equipment for the lookouts and building a ship with a way undersized rudder so it took forever to turn and the fact that they would have been better off hitting it head-on than trying to dodge it because all of the damage would have been contained to one watertight bulkhead.

The ship was a disaster waiting to happen. Iceberg...Not Guilty! LOL

@@RyanFrod Really, thanks for the explanation...I had no idea what he meant either! 😂 I totally get it now, I get annoyed by “skips” in albums!

The real question is: How can SNL insert this character into reoccurring segments instead of a one hit wonder...because this truly is hilarious

possibly , MT Rushmore, Redwood trees being destroyed, cal. brush fires... I also liked Derek's idea of meteor that killed dinosaurs.. lol ORR maybe we should not go to the well too many times. Great skit, well delivered. 5 or 10 whatever. .lol funny how he kept lowering the number to his benefit.

“12 tracks, no skips. Swear to god.” Is maybe the funniest thing I’ve ever heard. Especially coming from a vilified iceberg that was just chilling.
